Weirdest Stuff I Bought in Japan
Me and my brother (shiroberry) went to Japan recently and bought everything they had. Anime figures, gatcha toys, Tenga, Uniqlo clothes, Pokemon plushies and cards, Onitsuka Tiger shoes, and much more. Most of what we got was from the Tokyo area, either from claw machines or just buying stuff, we also got some stuff from Nara, Osaka, Kyoto, and Kanazawa.

@@MistaKip It's worth watching to make up your own mind. It's been so hyped as thoroughly execrable that it exceeded by nonexistent expectations, and the animation wasn't as off-putting as I thought when I first saw clips. Even so, it revisits elements of previous Ghibli films but doesn't handle them nearly as well (imagine Yubaba and Chihiro but the former without any complexity and the latter without any good qualities), and the last part of the movie is tremendously unsatisfying and inexplicably rushed. The Mandrake character had potential to be quite interesting, though. Regarding the other most disliked Ghibli titles: Tales from Earthsea has some compelling sections and some beautiful scenes, but the characterization and dramatic structure aren't very good. I've not read the source material, but I'm told it's very bad as an adaptation. I still have to watch Ocean Waves, which I will eventually because I'm the sort of person who likes to see things for myself.

Crazy how many hangers ghibli produces. Top 3 for me is grave of the fireflies nausica and the wind rises. Might need a rewatch of Mononoke and wind rises tho. Also thanks for the shout out. There are definitely some ghibli stinkers as well
