i like ure videos, very informative
Thank you very much , sharing is caring
gracias
de nada hermano 🙌🙌🙌
I just had a private (at Gracie Barra) on this exact combo a few months ago, it sure works . Thank you so much! Great to have a video reference, I couldn’t find examples anywhere
Such a powerfull sweep and nobody see it coming , You're very welcome 😁
Unstoppable is a stretch
Maybe a bit of an overstatement
Keep with these videos, they are the best ones out there. Im white belt with 1 stripe and they are soooo helpfull
Glad you like them! Thank You 🙌
The most useless sport for street self defense award goes to BJJ sadly.
BJJ is only one part of street self-defense. But still an essential part. Also, sport BJJ and self-defense BJJ have several important differences.
Most useless comment on this video, is yours sadly
@@newtonwetter8802 The last place you will ever want to be on a street fight is the ground. All that BJJ technique goes out the window the moment someone is kicking your head in or is hell bent to gouge your eyes out or grab your balls or even worse use a sharp blade. BJJ is not for the streets unfortunately
We are big advocate of other martial arts for self defense like wrestling and Muay Thai but calling BJJ useless is a bit far stretched tho but too each his own on the interwebz right ?! 😂😂😂
@@avantgardebjj perhaps calling it completely useless is far stretched but the ground is still the last place you will ever want to be on a street fight if you value your life.
You can definitely escape. When im in the semi-closed triangle, i use my trapped arm to extend the lapel (the part that is generally inside the belt and below) of the opponent behind his back, so that i can put my foot in the loop of the lapel that is held by my hand and lapel grip. Then, you extend the leg, preventing too much compression and swing to sweep the opponent to the bottom position. Keep the foot in the loop the whole time, then you can put your other foot in their armpit, and you are pretty much escaped. It also works in the fully closed triangle, but you want to be setting up the escape while its not fully closed so that you may escape easier.
in a semi closed triangle , yes it's possible to escape , a bit harder to escape in a mounted compleletly closed triangle 😁 Many triangle escapes are completely legit tho
@@avantgardebjj Sure, what i am saying is that you prepare the escape before its fully locked in, but in the case its locked in, you can still do it. Once the arm is passed across it becomes much harder. Ive escaped 2nd ranked Master 1 black belt in the world like that and other black belts, giving them mounted triangles to test it. Cheers
@@firedrive45 Giving mounted triangle and doing positional sparring from there is next level...That's awesome 🙌🙌
@@avantgardebjj How else do you practice bad positions? Maybe Practice different depth of fully locked in positions/submissions to see the wiggle room and potential escapes?
😮💨😮💨😮💨

best bjj channel
Appreciate the compliment Diego ! Thank you 🙌
I’m a white belt that’s been doing a very sloppy version of this. I did not know. It was a real position now that I have discovered this I can hopefully refine it and become a menace.
That's awesome to read , Octopus guard is really legit but if you were one of our students we would still recommend you to work on your basics from side control or half guard with some frames , punching your underhook and reguard in to the close guard but definetly you can become a menace by practicing the octopus ! Good luck in your jiu-jitsu journey 🙌
@ thank you for the advice i will continue to work on my basics close guard is my usual go to.
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊Thanks for your comment !
French people do every ting so French
In fact we are from Belgium but it's hard to get rid of this accent unfortunatly 😁
Awesome video , thank you !
Glad you liked it! 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Thanks for the informative vid. We did something very similar in class but I have the problem that I can't get my opponent's foot and he also resists giving up his foot. What can I do to get his foot at all?
Try to really scoop his foot with your heel , always great to bring a bit of push/pull , action/reaction and super important to frame the hip and sometimes if your oppoenent doesnt crossface you can use your elbow to push his knee between your legs , i would say it can be really good to alternate between the footdrag and the footlift method , check the other video on it ! Good Luck 😁
First to like and first to comment! What an honour!!! 🙃 Your videos are really inspiring. I like them a ton and I do everything in power to seeing them! Very good work!!!
Yay! Thank you! Appreciate a lot your comments ! we are happy to bring something useful to the community 🙌🙌🙌
So true, i see whitebelts doing this successfully more often. Actually got taken down by this in a bluebelt match once.
Such a devastating white belt technic done with spazz , strenght and malice , defintely you're going down 😂😂😂😂
Great techniques thank you!
Glad it was helpful ! You'rew welcome :)
I play a lot of half guard with the knee shield. I’m looking forward to trying these out!
Defintely a great tool to have in your arsenal especially with some push-pull/action reaction
Great format I love the first person camera angles too. Subscribed!!!
Magnifique.
Merci Beaucoup pour tes commentaires 🥋
French BJJ in Malta taught in English... That's a long way around the globe with great content in the end. Any transitions from this false-reap to upper boddy technics ? Openings for ninja/samurai rolls to attack the back ? Would be interesting :) Continuez comme ça !
Belgian speaking french talking english doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Malta Haha 😅 As you're finishing into a saddle obviously leglocks is be a better option , we would say that K-Guard is a better options to attack the legs and have some opportunity to have upper body technics , We will definetly do some videos on this topic in a near future ! Merci Beaucoup Thibaud
thank you for many repeatings , and not wasting time , just to the point , you are awesome , thank you again , BLESSED BE
Awesome comment ! Thank you so much for the kind words
do you need a high amount of flexibility to do a false reap?
In your back more than your legs If you have a belly it can be difficult to get under someone
Hip Mobility is always a great quality in Jiu-Jitsu , i wouldnt say flexibility is that important for this techniques but definetly helps , knowing how to invert is a great bonus too 🧐
@avantgardebjj like i can invert but i cant touch my toes with straight legs. XD
the different camera angels you show will make this channel blow up. really shows that you want to teach!
Thank you for the kind words , Share the content with your friends and Subscribe !!! Thank Youuu

If it fails in an MMA match or the street, its pretty bad 😂
That would be an interesting first choice to pull this takedown on a streetfight but why not to show off 😂
@@avantgardebjj well anything that might prevent at potential knockout from a boxer 😂 Not bad to pull guard
You also can block with the left leg and post to stomach with the right leg.
That's a possibility !
Very cool
Thank you Anthony 🙌
I was a bjj practitioner once, but I took a butterfly takedown to the knee.
That was a great comment who made us laugh ! Thank You
I see what you did there... I remember my days adventuring and training in Whiterun as well. Had a nice little gym just up from the blacksmith shop🤙
Looks like it could be dangerous for their knee?
Quite important to almost fall on your side and block the foot rather than hitting the knee , I would say its a safe move
By the looks of it it's not about kicking / sweeping the knee, but merely preventing them from making a step while at the same time moving their center mass towards the direction where the movement is restricted
sympa ce move, je l'essaye demain. merci
thanks great video
Glad it was helpful ! Let's apply that in your next roll 😁
Fantastic views with directions at the very same time. Thank you!
