VOLVO WAGONS
Просмотров 13 тыс.Год назад
1990s Volvo Wagons going off road. Lifted 240 and 740 Wagons.
Where did u get the lift kit from?
What are your tire-rim specs? Did you lift the car in any way? Really appreciate it!
awesome car. i hope to find one in Malaysia. Its so difficult to find a running one here.
i mean it could use awd, but still impressive.
I wish there was an easy/ cheap way to do that!
love the look of those tires, what are they?
I just love this car so much. It hurts not seeing this epic car in the roads like before, you see one once in a year here in Sweden.. My dad bought me one in 1995 which I kept it for almost 5 years before i trade her for Merc 190e which was great car too. Best memories with dad back then, crossing through Europe under 10 years period was with the 240, Merc 190 and later with the e39 523i. Unfortunately he passed away but i still remember his happy face when he called the 240 for Panzer (Tank) and how safe he felt while driving
Imagine if there was a being that created us right…. Then it zooms in to find this box driving up its piss stream😂😂😂
setup? sway bar?
Hilarious meme of a car
OMG what a 240!! awesome !!
Hey, what rack is that on the 240?
It was custom fabricated. I wish there were more of them to go around.
❤
Subbed for more volvo trail videos. Excellent job...bring em on.
Damn the 4.15 Beamng Drive update is insane!1!! :O
Great car. I owned one from 1981 to 2005 (and covered over 300k miles). They do rust more than modern Volvos but were years ahead of the competition.
The story of the rust. The painters where sloppy.the cars sold well anyway. The 240 out lived the 740 in production only becourse its huge popularity. Some last year models came partly galvanized.
Does this have the stock open dif? Or is welded?
Stock open diff. Just grippy tires and low torque haha.
Very interesting, thank you.
Poor salmons

I like you for showing the true colors of Redblock's torque, under a load, in such conditions. No limiter-hit drama, no showers of mud. Just some careful driving.
That's the ticket! We saw awd cars bouncing off the limiter get stuck a few times. The 240 chugged right on threw.
Very nice. I have a 1982 244 Volvo GL I wish it was standard, this one is standard right?
This is an auto trans! I wish they were all standard.
What a beauty I miss the old school boxed style wagons
ХА ХА ХА ДА ТАМ СОВЕТСКАЯ ВАЗ 2101. НЕ ГОВОРЯ О НИВЕ.
I saw a lifted 960 for sale and I want it so bad but have no idea what I would use it for
What COULDN'T you use it for?!
Drove a few of these old Volvo tanks! Bought each of them as used cars! First a 240 sedan. Built like a tank and sturdy as one. Once had a rear end collision to a Ford Fiesta who thought brake checking me would be an amazing idea! It was not!! The Fiesta went out of it as totaled, completely warped bodywork. The 240 had one headlight and the radiator grill broken, nothing too expensive! Then there was a 245 station wagon, with the 6 cylinders diesel engine, strong as a moose and frugal as a mouse! Carried me for many years. Then my wife fell in love with a 740 sedan. That car stayed with me for some three months, until a neighbor from three streets down parked her Opel Corsa (with 70 km/h ( 43 mph) in a 30 km/h (19 mph) zone) directly in my trunk. Due to the fact she was offset to the left she didn´t hit the massive part of the rear bumper, ripped down the rear left fender until the rear axle, which warped the bodywork slightly, although all four doors still worked perfectly. The trunk was a totally different story, obviously! When I got the car towed to the dealer I had bought it from he shook his head and asked me what had happened to the car. I told him the car he sold me wasn´t winterproof! He looked at me in disbelief and stated that it was the month of june! So I told him that the women who was to blame for the accident was a Mrs Winter! After a bit of negotiating and giving my old 245 station wagon into account, inserting the money from the insurance and a 1000 Deutschmarks (the good old times), I was able to buy a 4 years old 945 station wagon (with approx. 200 000 km ( 125 000 miles) on the clock. A good friend of mine was working as master mechanic for the Volvo dealer and he told me that this car was driven by a reporter of a german tv channel, mostly long distance routes, even from Germany to Italy or Norway, and had an immaculate service record. Sold this car 6 years later with nearly the double mileage and a worn-out clutch not too much under the prize I had payed.
Very nice 👍....this is awesone for me 😀🙏💪.....
when adding the 2-inch lift, did they make the suspension independent too?
No it's the stock solid axle still.
looks like you need to install a locker. lots of spin from only one tire.
Stock discs (20% i belive) are designed to take the slip just fine, up to the bumper in mud. There's no real need to disturb the balance of forces in universe, for a week of playing.
Stop destroying old cars :(
Dusty
It`s not even 4x4 and it goes so well offroad ? Amazing
I drive a silver wagon just like yours! is it lifted at all?
Yes they are lifted 2 inches.
@@bobbysims9903 how can I lift mine. what did ya do
what engine you running ? still original volvo l6 engine ?
This car has its original 2.3L I-4.
For those who are curios about fitting tyres on a stock 740/940: Yokohama Geolander At 205 70 15 will perfect without any changes on the car. I personally threw the spoiler lips in front and rear in the trash to get more ground clearance and used an ancle grinder to smooth out the corners from the bumpers around the wheels. You won't believe how good a redblock turbo with big at tyres actually works off road. Awesome car. Great video
Awesome video Bobby! I love the look of lifted wagons. If I had trails near me, I would think about it.
Thanks! Yeah they are really good looking cars. Lift it up!
Nice try 👍, it was like driving 4x2 SUV 😀💪. best regard from Indonesia 😀🙏🇮🇩.......
tennessee plates on the volvo, very nice, the new blue plates look even better
Where is this ?
Rural Tennessee
I think better you take a XC 70 or XC 90 for adventure car 😁👃👍.....
OMG...absolutely the very best video I have ever, ever seen of the Classic 240 VOLVOS CONGRATS !! ... my 1989 244 VOLVO automatic with overdrive 260K miles has been challenged since we moved from Berkeley, CA to Calaveras County (Motherlode area of Northern California) sadly we were unable to record events i.e. white out/blizzard conditions on California Highway 49 & 4 towards Arnold without mounting chains but the SILVER FOX had excellent Michelin tires. VOLVO FOR LIFE 🥰😇
Thank you!
What tire size?
28x7.50xr14
My 940GL can do the same
I love my 940 Classic estate, i have owned it for 18 years. Best car that i have ever owned and probably ever will.
Did yall just cut and add length to strut towers for the lift in the front?
Long live the redblocks!
Amazing video. quality cars. my Volvo is only 18 years old. are you in the States my friend?
Thank you! Yes I am in the U.S.
@@bobbysims9903 happy driving Bobby
Beautiful, old ladies.
They are some of the most photogenic cars ever. still run great too.
looks like fun
Oh ya!
what tires are you running?
KRANK!
to bad what you do to that classic car. that classic volvo needs to be restored and preserved.
This car is taken care of very well.
Maybe american old women need to be placed in caring facilities.. sweed grannies rock 'till the sunrise, and lovin' it. Because they've made 'em to be 4kd, back in the day.
Water gets in the floor pans and that’s the end…..
