My grandfather also from Tai Po, but I didn’t know much about my ancestor, I still have my grandfather name written in Chinese character, that’s all I have 😢😢😢. I only know about the foods, abascus seed and nepan, made from potato, my dad said, that are the foods from Tai Po. I really want to know about my ancestor, but don’t know how where to start to find 😂😂😂. Greetings from Jakarta Indonesia.

So nice to find this video. Dabu is where my family is originated. i visited our ancestral house 7 years ago along with my parents and met old relatives. Great feast and hard liquor, too.

I enjoyed this vlog. But i think if you added voice over or spoke while visiting these places i would like it more. I dont mind the silent vlogs with subtitles, but i think i enjoy people talking about it more rather than me having to read whats being done or read where the locations are. Lol. (I still liked it though, just my preference)😅

very interesting. We visited dabu some years back, we stayed at the RuiJin hotel then relatives drove us to our 老家 village everyday. I remember my grandfather used to say when he first left the village to come to singapore for work, back in the old days there were no roads or highways like you see there today in the old days people had to hike maybe days to get to a major river then take a riverboat to get to a major town. He said in the old days it was dangerous to travel as there were wolves in the forest but when I visited I didn't see any, I think all the wolves have been eaten up long time ago. 😋
