Do you know it's Christmas?
With Band Aid marking the 40th Anniversary of releasing their hit single to raise funds for famine Relief in Ethiopia, Matthew Sharpe poses the challenge of an Ethiopian who discovered a personal knowledge of Christmas truth, that God is indeed with us in the person of Jesus Christ. Acts 8 v 26-40 presents the challenge to us too.

Regime Change through a Child

Isaiah's prophecy spoken to God's people under great threat from enemies looks beyond the immediate situation to the outworking of God's much greater plan to bring the Rule of Light in place of darkness through the Immanuel who would one day be born. Sermon from Isaiah 9 by Matthew Sharpe on morning of 15 December 2024
Christ the Stumbling Block
Просмотров 1021 день назад
Isaiah 8v14 is applied in Romans 9 and 1 Peter 2 to show that Christ is the stumbling block that keeps many from the way of God's Kingdom. But the church is not at liberty to remove the offence of the gospel of grace but rather to proclaim Christ crucified as being the "chief cornerstone". Sermon by Matthew Sharpe, evening 1st December 2024
Faith, Forgiveness, Service in the face of Scandal

Jesus warns His disciples of the certainty of scandal (causes to stumble). Being careful to avoid leading others astray and responding to being on the receiving end will require faith and humility in service as it will be challenging, but as with all commands, the Lord provides the grace and strength to the obedient. Sermon from Luke 17 v 1-10 preached 1 December 2024 by Matthew Sharpe

Following Jesus' parables reveaing Heaven's joy at sinners who repent, the lost who are found, we see the natural mind's indignant outrage and the Father's grace pictured by the older brother in this famous parable. Sermon from Luke 15 v 11-32 preached 10 November 2024 by Matthew Sharpe

Why should anyone care what that book says ? Is there a reason at all? Cheers
Hi. Thanks for your comment. Maybe this link will be useful, setting out reasons why it is a good idea to learn from the Bible (www.gotquestions.org/why-read-Bible.html). I don't know your situation, but I would encourage you to try it for yourself. This link will take you to Luke's gospel, a good place to start (www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%201&version=NIV). Thanks again. Matthew

Thank you for your encouragement Olive.
Please join me in praying for Jonnie Irwin who is a presenter on the television program "Escape To The Country". He is dying with cancer and we are praying for his salvation. So glad I found your channel!
Thank you Matthew, a most welcomed sermon on the Good Shepherd. Tony
Thanks for your encouragement, Tony. Every blessing.
It seems to be the exact opposite, and you are doing it yourself right there. You say without your deity it reduces people to mere animal existence, and that is how you dehumanise people who do not share your views. thus about 2 minutes in and you already have shown how bad religious thinking is.
My apologies I neglected to reply. Would a doctor, using her knowledge of medicine, telling a patient they have a serious illness, even though the patient disagrees on account of "feeling fine", be dehumanising? I think you are implying that I am bad with God but to fail to speak would be like the doctor failing to be truthful with her patient about their condition, paving the way (hopefully) for treatment. In telling readers of the love of God, the Bible does not shy away from confronting with uncomfortable truths, urging us on to find soul-healing through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Best wishes
