@@jace-thecomicsource561 Well we know that this is spinning out of events of 'Absolute Power' so I'm guessing the powerless heroes broker a deal with Darkseid to defeat Amanda Waller and her Amazo forces. In exchange Darkseid gets his very own Earth. His evil permeates every corner of reality. But the question remains , have we already seen this Earth? I dunno if you Read Earth Two : Worlds End but Darkseid and Apocalypse defeat and enslave 'Earth Two'. It's been preymuch a forgotten moment as the Earth 2 space arks eventually land and inhabit another world. Maybe this is revisiting the damned Earth Two were Superman Wonder Woman and Batman all died at Darkseid s hands. Maybe this is the 'silver age' of that world.

@@OnionSavoya-jf5hz Interesting theory, but I don't think we are headed in that direction. I don't see the heroes making a deal with Darkseid. Seems more likely that Darkseid's death infects a part of the multiverse, but we will have to wait and see.

Oh man, I am really excited for this too. I mean Long Halloween is so brilliant in it's story structure as an ensemble piece with Batman, Harvey and Gordon all equallky important, so I am looking forward to more of that the most I think. There is NO better story suited for Tim Sale's work and it is his unreleased art I am most looking forward to seeing. If I have to pick one of the upcoming artists though I have to say, Dave Johnson. He so rarely does interiors and his sense of design is so amazing. His visuals just ooze with style. Seeing what he will bring to the Long Halloween corner of the Batman Universe will be cool. What about you?

Thanks for the input Josh, I am glad someone is enjoying Flash, but it still feels like a mess to me. Interesting that we also talk about the trouble DC has with differentiating Supergirl and Power Girl. Even you called the book Supergirl ... also you called her Karen instead of Paige. My guess is this whole Paige era gets forgotten at some point.

@jace-thecomicsource561 I'm delighted by it As a lifelong fan of the series since the beginning, it's great to see a return to a much beloved franchise Fans of Legacy of Kain appreciate it for its incredibly expansive gothic atmosphere as well as the Shakespearian dialogue We do want another game so long as it remains true to the spirit of the material and doesn't wind up like the Nosgoth game A remaster of the original games would be a nice starting point

No, no, no, no no ... Amanda Waller has NEVER been my favorite character. I have disliked her from the start and that dislike has only grown over time. I was merely saying it is possible, that she may be or have been someone't favorite character at some point. If that is the case, then those fans are probably not real happy with what Ridley is doing in the Origins series, because it is blatantly showing she is a despicable person and clearly a villain.

I saw the Death of Superman as a cash grab and pretty much, the beginning of the downfall of comics. I do recognize that change has to happen and maybe I've read so many books that nothing really seems new. Maybe he should've just created a new character, but it's hard to beat Superman for name recognition.

Yes! Hoping it bring in new readers like the New 52 did.

@@godinacape Oh I recall the Earth One series, JMS and some great art also. The artist went over to the darkside though. Also I think the format had it's own challenges. I don't have the inside scoop on that. Might have to ask Dan D next time I see him.

I think the level of support from the start shows how many fans there are out there. It's hard to imagine we won't see more Soul Reaver with the success of this campaign so far!

Well, there have been many different takes on Superman over the years. Before I say this is nothing new under the sun, I am going to read it first. Try and keep an open mind and all. If it's not your thing, there are plenty of other great books out there.

Quitle litterally the opposite. The court of owls was never a thing until 10 years ago. Its an elseworld series give it a chance to try something new.

Entirely possible, but more likely he isn't dead. He is actually in the Absolute Universe and the heroes of the main universe aren't aware of it. He may spend his time in the AU building his power back up for a big villainous return. Kalibak would seem to be the natural successor. This death does seem to confirm that the Fourth World series from Ram V, wherein the death of Darkseid and the fallout from that, will be dealt with and that series will be very important.

@@jace-thecomicsource561 I agree that Darkseid won't really be 'dead', but maybe incapacitated in some way and his energy infects the Absolute Universe somehow. As you said, this does point out why the Fourth World series will be so important. Ram V is the perfect choice for that series.

Yeah I saw that, which I sort of don't understand. I certainly wasn't the only one doing interviews at SDCC. Though I am someone who prioritizes comic creator interviews over everything else. Also I have been doing it so long and I sort of know everyone at this point, so they do sometimes tell me things they don't tell others. Like Jason telling me about the "dust of Krypton" Superman cape.

Not just the Time Trapper story in Superman, Action Comics is a time travel story for the first arc of the weekly schedule also. There are multiple ways they could change Jon back, I still think the odds are against it though.

@@TevyaSmolka Oh for sure, but I actually think Mark Waid is more likely to undo it than Josh. Partly because he wasn't there when Bendis was, so it feels like with that separation it is a bit more likely. and partly because he is Mark Frickin' Waid ... he can do what he wants!

When it comes to these types of stories, it comes down to something Stan Lee used to say. Anyone can beat anyone if that's what the writer wants. So as long is it's a good story she can beat whoever she needs to.

Nightwing is a not a top fighter. he's a top acrobat. It is canon as part of the Bird of prey series that she could be better than Wildcat and Richard Dragon being the last one standing in her fight against the twelve brothers in silk. That's a bit of stretch, though.

@@comicbookbin Again ... I think anyone can be a top fighter if the writer needs them to be. Nightwing is pretty formidable, but I don't know where I would put him in comparison to Black Canary only because I haven't read much Birds of Prey from before the New 52. 2011 is when I leaned back into DC big time. So you likely know better than I.

Pretty much, which is exciting. I've been waiting a long time for a companion Earth in monthly format just like the main line, just smaller.

American comics need more of this. This sounds like a non destructive way of experimenting with adding things to these classic legendary characters. Im very excited to see what they do with Absolute Batman as well as Superman.

She has the Absolute Power: Super Son One-Shot coming. After that, nothing announced yet, but she has shown she can definitely do more than just writer Dreamer. So hopefully there is more to come!

Agreed for the most part. I would have been curious to see the Earth One Superman and Batman continue, the Wonder Woman less so, but it feels like this Absolute Universe has similar energy. That being a bit more chaotic.

Hopefully they don’t turn it into the sexual perversion line like they’re doing the regular comics because if any one of these characters in this book is gay or transgender or not the race they’re supposed to be I will not buy another one of the issues because I’m not playing this left-wing nonsense with these people no more they’re gonna kill comic books if they keep doing this, nobody wants to see characters turned from white to black because you’re not allowed to do it the other way and I will not read anything that does thator if they turned a classic character that’s a macho guy into a homosexual. I won’t read that like they did Superman son. I can’t read anything about him now because they had him sex in a bathtub in one of the books. It’s a joke what they’ve done to these superheroes turning Alan Scott’s Green Lantern into a flaming homosexual my God.

I felt sort of the same but the excitement the creators had for these titles at SDCC was infectious,. I am more excited now.

I’m glad they are their own universe. That way us fans of the og can be happy about them not drastically changing the characters and status quo and making us old head ticked off. This way we can still have the og and also have the new versions
