I love hearing 80s Demos. They're not quite there yet but they're not a million miles from the finished product ("We Close Our Eyes", "Baby Be Mine", "Something About You", etc) I would say Freddie was about 75% there with this song

Love this song but the version on Queen's 1995 Made in Heaven is so much better thanks to Brian, Roger and John improving the arrangement.
the original version is better, the song is designed to be done without Queen, I see the arrangements as unnecessary and Freddie's vocal harmonies are not appreciated. Queen's version takes away personality, a Brian May solo was not needed in the song

I agree.The piano is taking out in the Queen version. That makes the track. And his backing vocals.Made in heaven album isn't one of my favourites because it simply misses his input in production. Over done with the Drums and Guitar,s up fall blast.

All Freddie's songs I've heard "remade" from Queen, have a worse composition than in Freddie version. I'm talking about Mr. Bad Guy, Made in Heaven, A Winter's Tale, I Was Born To Love You... All of them are simply majestic in Freddie's original version.
