    I was at Blues Alley for this. It was a wonderful night but Zoot was not feeling well. You could tell. Ran into Carol Sloane and Jimmy Rowles on M Street as they were headed out to get an early morning a bite to eat. They confirmed Zoot was sick. Makes me feel very old that all of them performing that night are gone. Some great musicians and great music.

    Always loved this band. Favourite album played it everyday for a year on a loop with Dark side of the moon pink Floyd. Desperado Eagles. The Captain and me. Work was cool in those days. Long as we got our work done the boss was ok. Great days, we were only kids back then. Girls and boys oldest was 18. All loved the Doobies

    Theres a complete version out now with Monks straight no chaser and Coltranes Impressions on it. Etc. I cant find out who is on sax. The complete gig runs for over two hours and Benson is mesmerizing. As he could be back then. The greatest jazz guitar of all time. Back then.
