One thing I forgot to mention is, doing planks. very important to strengthen your core. hold them 10sec to 2min whatever you can do. gluts and core exercises can offer relief.

MY STORY, NO MORE SCIATICA! NO SURGERY! AFTER 2 YEARS OF PAIN
Просмотров 46 тыс.8 лет назад
im 35 years old, hurt my back from years of sports (snowboarding, wake boarding, mountain biking, etc.) but mainly what got me was a horse accident, it popped me off and I landed right on my tailbone! horrible!! then year later i was feeling better and I threw a frisbee about 50 times or so until one throw just took me out! I instanlty felt shooting back down my leg, it sucked horrible walking ...

    This gives so much hope. I’m a hairstylist in the standing at the chair is the absolute worst right now. I’ve definitely been in such a dark place. But this video gives me hope that there is still more life to live. I’m only 36 and it feels like the end which sounds dramatic, but I think people who know this pain understand it. Thanks for posting these.

    I'm 48, when I was in my early twenties, my back "went out" a few times just from bending over to pick up a pen I had dropped on the floor. An Xray showed I have scoliosis. About ten years ago, I got into weight training, and a few years after that, into powerlifting. I wasn't moving that much weight, 305LB squat, 400LB deadlift but for me, with average to below average genetics, these were heavy weights. I've let myself go a few times, and I used walking at an incline on a treadmill as a way to compensate for the extra calories and later to cut. I think all of those had cumulative effect. Over the past decade, I literally, maybe missed five workouts. About 3 years ago, I made the mistake of deadlifting at this new gym, the floor turned out to be uneven. I was just coming off a long cut. And all the weight shifted to my left, I felt tingling and lost a lot of the feeling in my left leg. It took me a few months to recover. I never went back to lifting anything heavy. Cat-cows and half-cobra stretches really helped me. Also, losing weight is important. And walking on a flat surface. If you begin to feel sciatica after 10-20 minutes, find a place to sit down, take a minute break and continue walking. You will get better with time. I also had MRI done, I have L1-L5 herniated discs with radiculopathy.

    For all those who have been diagnosed with the herniated discs , sciatica and or both, trust me it's the worst pain out there one can imagine...I'm 34 now and have recently had a second lapse of this dreadful painful herniated disc this time the L4 and L5 level, earlier being in the L5 and S1 level way back in 2015 - 2016 , which took me in the painful and dilapidated pain for almost 8 months before I fully recovered ( another 5 months of the mental block to clear for me to resume all of my normal activites ).doctors had advised me microdisectomy back then cos the herniation was a large , I did not go through the surgery then and did not go through it this time either...Present update I've recovered from the lower back and radiating pain almost by 80 percent.and hopefully by exercises and the continued efforts if keeping myself active ( I'm doing a combination of walking for 30 mins , dead hanging helps a lot, decompression of the spine exercises helps a lot ). it gets better and one can recover fully.Have to be patient Nd have to go through that intial acute phase...Speedy recovery to all those experiencing this dreadful pain.

      hard to remember how bad I was, so better! minimal to no sciatic. I’m 40years old so I have some pains here an there, but I know my limits, I won’t go lift stupid heavy stuff that I don’t need to, an if I do, highly focus on using my legs. I’m also exercising when I can as stay active as possible. muscle supports bones etc. I need to do more, but I’m tired😂 a friend of mine went to my guy that fixed me not long ago, an he wouldn’t work on my friend cause he’s to out of shape, he told my friend “go get in the pool for a month an build up your strength an come back, cause if I set/adjust you an your have no muscle to support it, it won’t last”.. that’s truth! month people would just take your money an tell ya to keep coming back forever.. so yes I’m doing better, haven’t takin pills in 6+years, thankful! hope your well✌🏼

  • @zx6r79
    @zx6r79 3 года назад

    I used to have a job where I lifted sheet metal, chains, 5 gallon buckets of oil all day. The reality is, if you lift heavy things at work this is something you are going to have to stop doing RIGHT NOW if you have a herniated disc and sciatica. The compression will eventually catch up to you. Fortunately I can move around pretty well now. I can even go for trail runs again, probably not the smartest thing and I do end up with some pain and weakness if I hit it too hard but I do it because that's what I love to do and probably wont stop until I feel I cant do it anymore. But I will not lift anything heavy ever again. That compression of the spine will get you in trouble. I've had pretty bad symptoms after doing yard work lifting bags of mulch, leaves ect. Just don't do it. I quit my job, and rested for 4 months. It was financially devastating but I really had no choice and like this guy said... I didnt care about money anymore. I needed my back, back haha. And my leg... Find a new way to make money, and carefully choose what kind of things you lift from now on. Hire movers if you move ect. I know its not the manliest thing to do, trust me if you knew me you'd know no one does things for me like that. But after this injury Ive had to accept if I want some more good years of exercising and riding my motorcycle it's what has to be done.

    • @zx6r79
      @zx6r79 3 года назад

      Also wanted to add, I have an extremely strict diet. No refined sugar, oils, dairy or refined carbohydrates and I only drink water from glass bottles. I also dont eat meat. Probably more difficult than recovering from sciatica haha. But it's what I do and has probably helped me in recovery more than I'll ever know. Anyway, if you got some extra pounds, you know what to do. You got this!

      @@zaneahmed5955 There is a difference between real sciatica and leg pain. If you have the real sciatica you wont be doing any glute exercises. You will be crawling around on the floor to a hot bath tub or ice tub. You can't drive can't sit, can't sleep. If it doesn't affect your sleep then you are lucky. I guess there are different levels to what sciatica is but if you get the real sciatica it's the worst pain you can ever imagine and not just like breaking your arm or leg or ankle, it is that same pain 24/7 that never lets up. Good luck to anyone suffering real sciatic pain.
