Royler Gracie Survives Leg Lock Finish Attempt
Looks kinda like gay rape defense
A scream is a tap
Eddie Brahhh won that match even if it was technically a draw.
Finally 10th planet wins something
? Do they never win? 😮
These fools saying they both have a leg lock, lmao
gay
Commentator babbling on about nothing while Bravo is killin it 🤨
lol I'm re re I always thought Eddie was some talk show host or podcaster person.
Edgy Brah!!!
No wonder why he thinks the world is flat.., He has obviously spent a lot of time rolling on the flat floor.., That was slick.., He knew it was happening also just couldn’t stop it.., Beautiful
hey is this gay porn? ive been tricked!
apparently after this match eddie went straight backstage to throw up. then one of the OG gracies (i forget which one) went back there and told eddie he wasn't a good rolemodel for bjj because he smokes pot. 🤦♂gracies never lose with grace. pathetic
Yup it was royce gracie, that fool said eddie threw up because he was being so dominated by royler lol.
@@Dboy-ui1fb 😏
Royler lost, he just didn't want to admit the pain Eddie put on him 😂
Edge brah?
Legend
Who, royler? Certainly not eddie
@@TheBlackHarringtonLol
that was sick as fuck.
Survives but can never walk again
Royler is getting funky with this thumbs.
Yes, the Baby-Faced Assassin tapped Dean Lister with a pain submission, but Eddie couldn't tap Royler here, which is why chokes are better than other submissions.
Eddie smoked him the whole match
Eddie won.
The beginning commentary is terrible. Wakes up and starts eating watermelon.
Two guys cuddling.. meh no thanx.
if your uncle cuddles you like this son I have bad news for you lol
You are an F that ends with a T and has a couple of G's in the middle.
@@jonjackson8811 Frogglet??
Not zesty enough
Eddie steam rolled this!
Eddie - planets don’t exist Also Eddie 10th planet baby
At 1:13 it looks like Royler screams when Eddie grabs his foot and bends it forward
He in fact did. Good catch
I know he let out that Tom and Jerry scream for like half a sec
Never noticed that. Good catch.
Rad🤙
0:13 "THEY FAKED SIX MOON MISSIONS, BRO..."
Deep half
He was setting up a calf slicer when they stopped it...
Nah he was laying breathing heavy. They stopped it at that moment
I remember a coach teaching me this sweep to calf slicer on the first month of coming to his classes hahah I should have stayed but went to Southeast Asia to work on my kickboxing instead. I miss BJJ
@@joshuamirabal9891 never too late to get back in it.
Gracie’s think their BJJ was invincible invincible and Royler’s knee paid the price. I saw a meeting with the elder Gracie once with Eddie and he was trying to explain his Ju Jitsu system and Helion was having none of it, he laughingly dismissed Eddie’s BJJ input. Pride is a MF’r
That was so darn clean.

@@nerfgunner2327 no, I'm telling them to accept, as in "cope" with the fact, that it wasn't. Maybe stick to your native language.😉
Tremendo!!!
What were the other 9 planets?
pluto is the 9th that's the joke
@@RollingcoleW There are five dwarf planets in our solar system including pluto. Ceres is actually closer to us than pluto, making pluto the 10th planet if you wanna disregard the whole dwarf planet thing
@trevorlastname101 Peter Dinklage is coming to cancel yer ayss
I donno but he probably thinks they are flat and are not abiding by the law of gravity
Pluto was still considered a planet when eddie named 10th planet
I specialized in deep halfguard sweeps. I was very sad when I learned that they don’t work well in MMA. Never wanna play deep half again.
yeah in deep half you're totally available for ground and pound
@@ImposterSyndrome-p7l with sufficient amount of off balance and threat you can force your opponents hands to be occupied for base instead of punching atleast, if you look at alot of the best sweepers in mma (big nog, maia etc) they did a lot of good work from the deep half but they dont sit around under there thats for sure
@@scorcher165 Yeah it's not a chilling position, but striking towards your own groin with precision and power while you are doing the splits and getting swept I don't imagine being easy. To train this I guess I would just start in deep half and top player maintains balance and can throw light slaps / touches to the head and body of bottom player.
There are lots of positions that you don’t just hang around in. Deep half, K guard, etc. you enter and go right away.
@@scorcher165 This is why cardio is the most important thing to bring to a fight. Most of the time if guys are "hanging out" in positions, it means the tank is empty.
pause
What irks me about this commentary (and has since I watched this live in 2014) is that at the 1:00 mark, Royler did not "hit" a reversal on Eddie. Eddie fell back to his side to achieve a deeper electric chair underhook on the leg
Even to trained people like Kenny Florian these moves are hard to follow sometimes
After you mentioned this and described it I rewatched it and I think you are 100% correct. You can see Eddie sort of gently lay himself back down before quickly resetting and coming back through again. When you realize what you are looking at, Eddie was in total control the entire time.
@@bryantharris5914 Eddie confirms this during his appearance on JRE shortly after this event occurred (Metamoris 3?) He wanted the leg on the other side of his head.
“Something that irks me is that someone made an honest mistake. I hate it when people aren’t perfect and it just goes to show how smart and perfect I am”
@ that’s not it at all. The announcers fundamentally misrepresented what was happening during the match. It would be like if a hockey team scored and the announcers attributed the goal to the other team. There is nothing wrong with expecting announcers if a sport to understand “scoring” positions
People have no idea how great of a fight this is
Fight?😂😂
@ that’s how lost you are
Johnny Bravo loses to Rickson.
Props to Eddie. Royler's flaw was he didn't take the match seriously and didn't do what most professionals do: study their opponent. This was obvious in that Royler didn't have good responses for some of Eddie's well-known techniques. To be fair, I think Royler was overall the better grappler and more of a spontaneous grappler (instead of employing a system of techniques) but a tap is a tap. And it was a good one.
Eddie beat him twice but Royler is better grappler?
Was a clear tap..???
@@zip-un5tz Royler pedigree in grappling was over 20 year tournament fighter being undefeated in his class for about 12 years winning hundreds of matches against the toughest world class opponents. He was past his prime when we fought Bravo, approaching 40 years old and not studied newer techniques and strategies. t was obvious here. I mean, he should've at least known how to counter Eddie's go to strategies like the arm overhook, which steered him to doom. Plus he was a feather weight. As someone who has trained briefly with both fighters and around that time period,I cann say without hesistation Royler was a much more "natural" grappler hving refined movements and on-the-fly responses honed through hundreds of matches. . Eddie is also excellent and had techniques and strategies unfamiliar to Royler. Eddie is more of a systems guy and it showed, as that is what he used to win. Perhaps arrogance and underestimation. But it is hard to compare aging competitors against younger and cutting edge grapplers.
Almost all Gracie fighters use the same set of techniques that made their family famous. They abide by the ''old school, best school''. Both in grappling and in the cage. With the exception of Roger, who is an anomaly in terms of mindset and physical proportions. I remember an old JRE podcast with Rickson, where they were discussing Kron's then upcoming debut in MMA. Rickson maintained the opinion that Kron will just jump guard on anyone he cant take down and that will work. 10 years later, Kron jumps guard all the time against Bryce Mitchell and gets knocked out in the process. They didnt even think or trained anything new in the span of 10 years.
@@imightdeletethislater3810 Royler was not like that. Royler is also a Judo black belt and studied some wrestling techniques. He was a 4-time world champion, and 3 time ADCC champion. Undefeated in his weight-class for over 10 years.
I tried hitting this the other day and got my ass triangled LOL
lol 10/10 comment
Keep the lockdown on until you establish upper body control, then release and finish the pass. If you rush it, you can get caught, or just lose the position you worked hard for. Also consider the twister side pass from that position (right after the sweep). You can even pin the non-lockdown leg across their body (be sure to get at least near-side underhook), and basically make them let you pass to the far-side.
When you sweep and get on top.. keep lockdown.. dive on their head and arm.. in the words of Eddie Bravo "professionals don't pass immediately..make them beg for you to pass" this is why he falls back over a few times.. to make sure he solidifies the position
That’s nigh impossible. How they triangle you if you have their leg in a lockdown?
@@flowsenpai9961cause he’s a virgin
Ewwwww. Yuuuuuuuck
😂😂😂 true
Is that Jean Jacques Machado at :38 on the right?
Yes, why? He was in Eddie’s corner and gave Eddie his BB.
Love JJM. He’s an incredible ambassador to BJJ.
LOOK INTO IT!
I was a white belt when this match happened. I came and trained every couple of weeks and thought I was cool. After I saw this match I took Bjj serious for some reason and still train to this day and recently received my black belt.
Well that's badass, congrats on the accomplishment. I'm a 47 yr old white belt that's trained for 2 yrs and got lazy and have hardly trained in the last year. I need my ass kicked. I'm on my way out the door to yoga and I'm going trail running Saturday morning tho, trying to get hyped up for the hurtin I'm gonna get when I get back on the mats. Think about that. You've stuck with it and made it part of your lifestyle to get to where you are, and it takes consistent, constant effort. That's awesome. I'm inspired.
That's cool, I'm sure it inspired lots of people even now.
Congrats, man. That is seriously a huge achievement.
Word on the street after the event was that Royler received a tear to his taint during this sequence. He is also a keen horse rider and has never saddled up since. Move should be banned in my eyes.
@@eadc888 I may be misinformed, but my first grade sex ed teacher said boys don't have taints, they have choads
It’s called tapping.
@@ericjohnson4877 from what I understand, a choad is when a man’s business end is as wide as it is long. The ‘Taint’ is the region between the balls and the hole. Other names for this region are ‘Banus’ and ‘Notcha’
Only white belts tap to the electric chair as a sub, relax. It’s mostly a sweep.
