More of a 1.5g rod. this one.

Hi there! I would say it's too stiff for area fishing. I have fished brown trout with it on a lake and it's fun, but ideally something with more of a medium action will be better.

Hi! I would say the max is no more than 3.5g. if you want to load the blank and whip a cast. Min is around 0.6-0.8, depending on the shape of the lure.

Small reel, small parts. The test is for fun, not really scientific. You never spin them that fast and with normal use, it's actually quite smooth for such a tiny reel.

There shouldn't be any clicking noise. The Vanford has very light and high quality internals and such sounds are not normal. I would swap it out.

The video is clearly sarcastic, I am praising the fishing here with it actually :).

The sound of the bearings is specific to the sound of plastic bushings rubbing but both sounds contribute to the way a reel sounds. The type of materials used, thickness of the grease and oils inside as well as the quality of the cut of the gears contribute quite a bit too. 👌

Thanks for the kind words! It depends on your budget, I love my 4 pc. 10g. Major Craft Crosstage and travel the world with it. I have anything from tiny groupers and scorpions to 4-5kg fish on it and it's always super fun. It's extra fast, but not as fast as the Aji-Do. With that said, the Aji-Do is my very favourite for light sea fishing, I own both the 5G and 1G versions and both are fantastic imo.

I have never fished with the Triple Cross, but I know it's a heavier rod. Depends on the fish you target and the size of your lures really. I love light stuff and I always prefer to go the lightest possible for the fish I am after.

Lets agree that we are talking 1g to 7g lure and soft bait ..the triple cross can handle 0.6 -10 g and the 1G AD1-S622M can handle 0.6 - 5 g i never mind for ajing rod to be not more than 90G for rod weight nothing mentioned in major craft website about the rod weight regarding the triple cross and other rod .. and to let you know i own 1G shore jigging 1002L/lsj and its really light and i love it.. but im confused about my next rod that it must be ajing rod .. i have many good and cheap and good ultra light rod for example crossfire trout ultra light rod and other but im still looking for an premium rod like major craft

My hands are always wet before handling a fish, and it has been out for 5 seconds between the net and being released. I do take fish handling very seriously and advocate for it. Gloves take the slime off the fish and cause more damage than anything else. I appreciate your concern but it will be good to educate yourself a bit more first. Thanks for the comment!

Hey, thanks for the comment! I use anything between size 6 and 10, typically trying to have the hook to come out between 1/3 and 1/2 of the length of the lure.

Thank you so much! It's a Dark Olive pattern with hares ear body, copper wire, soft hackle by choice. The tail is optional and I had both with and without a tail on the point and on the dropper to see if there was any difference in the fish's preference but both delivered equality. Natural colours seem to work the best.

Hey, I've use my kids Amazon cheap walkies but the guys use waterproof floating ones. Definitely a good idea to go for floating radios for fishing.

It's fantastic because tiny fish puts up a good fight, but fish like these pike can really get on your nerves. Heavy, long drag playing game, you have no control over them, but when you land them it feels good. Definitely the UL game is the pinnacle of technical fishing and it's 100% worth it!

Thanka a lot! Yes, it can be used for nano jigs, mormishing and casting nymph flies perfectly. If the wobbles are too aggressive, it may be a bit too soft for accurately and freely manipulating them, but casting them will be fine.

No prob, I have 2 rods 5'8 and a 6'8. The tips action is actually quite slow, it's the rest of the bank that's stiffer, this helps for great sensitivity with tiny fish especially while jigging and it's tons of fun as well. Where it fails imo is in stronger current. If you haven't experienced very fast rods, try one first. It is totally my thing and I love fishing both fresh and salt water with it for anything nano/ultra light. Some people prefer more noodlely like blanks, both have pros and cons really. Tight lines!

Thanks a lot! Yes, They also recently released the more budget 1G version. Differences between the 1G and 5G is that the 5G has Titanium Smoke Fuji with SiC-S inserts while 1G has standard Fuji SiC guides. The Carbon of the Aji-Do 5 is T1100G Toray wrapped in an all 360 axial direction while in the 1G it is standard bidirectional wrap like the Crosstage. Same reel holder. Worst basic rod case with the 1G compared to the 5G.

​@@fisheverything5G rod has fuji stainless Sic guides, only first but section guide is titanium Sic... 1G rod has fuji stainless K Oring guides... Also 5G rod have superior carbon blank such as toray T1100 G.

Yes, I have found the casting limit to be around 3.5-4g. however the rod shines best with between 1.5-2.5g. total weight. Good luck!
