Thank you 🤩 excellent day hike through the mountains isn’t it. We really like the nothernlite it’s easy to put up and a solid well made shelter. Yes 2 wide matts fill the tub floor. We both have the RAB iron sphere wide, mine Xl and my wife’s regular. The northern lite has two great vestibules with doors so very handy for gear storage and cooking etc. I have a video on my channel showing it in more detail too if you fancied watching it 👍🏼 Thanks for watching,commenting and the sub. @@henchy3rd great to know that the nothernlite has been a solid shelter for you, I’ve used mine in some good ol’ Blighty weather now and it’s stood up to everything “so far” that’s been thrown at it. I’m very pleased with it thus far 👍🏼 The durston is a completely different beast, though I can’t talk of the pro… it’s also stood some very bad weather in the lakes. Crazy what it can withstand for a trekking pole tent. Very impressive. Yeah both tents can take the Thermarest mat/chair even when my wife and I both use them together. Personally for the few extra pounds if plum for the 2 person. But like you I do like the extra space 😁 Thanks for the comment, love hearing other people’s gear journeys. Have a great day

@@henchy3rd have you considered the new durston x-dome +1? Looks interesting 🤔 waiting for more long term feedback on it, but does seem to tick many boxes. Weight,size etc. Think I’d wait til March when the 2 person drops 👍🏼

@@summit_two_sea_outdoors you made right choice not to try, to get to it like i said you have to cross the river 2 times and scramble along a muddy back to get to it but well worth the effort on a nice day

Hi there, the weight was on the info boxes. The Durston tent weighs 1.15kg and The Terra Nova weighs 2.25kg. Hope this helps 👍🏼

A few advantages to the Durston carbon poles are…… if you hike but don’t use trekking poles as part of your kit. They are lighter and are significantly lighter in weight than trekking poles. I’ve used them mainly when I’ve stayed at a campsite for a weekend of day hikes from the site, I can use the Durston poles with the tent and still have use of my trekking poles as I did in my Langdale pikes video. On multi day hikes like WHW which I plan to do early next year I wouldn’t bother with the Durston ones just use trekking poles. 👍🏼

Thank you ☺️ the hike could be done in around 6 hours. It’s not a difficult hike bit steep for the first hour but flattens off afterwards. I have a full video on my channel, give you a good idea on what to expect….. it’s an amazing hike 👍🏼

@@wadirunner thanks for your comment Wadi 👍🏼 useful tip that, must admit I’ve never tried short side first, will definitely give that a go on our next outing 😊 I had my doubts about the z flick poles when they arrived, as you’ve seen they are much smaller/lighter than the trekking poles but they are fantastic. We had our tent pitched at buttermere in very strong winds and they held all nite. I’ve been pleasantly surprised, I use trekking poles a fair bit so always have them to hand should I need them. The main reason I got them was so I could pitch my tent and still have the trekking poles to hike from camp ( if staying lower than the peaks) 😆

I'm going to start pinning a channel for every video and short I put up. I didn't get any comments on my videos before, I get quite a few now. I'll pin yours soon at the top. I'm hoping everyone will see the channels I pin and then look. I let you know a few days before and then pin yours. You'll pick up. People love tent reviews and things like you did recently. I won't do it because my gear is poop💩😁 and it's not my thing. Many camping and hikers get their biggest views from gear reviews. Keep having fun. You'll pick up. We’ve been out in Thailand exploring so not been out into our national parks since going to the brecons what seems an age ago!! Definitely be heading out on many more hikes and wild camps again soon tho just got to get my fitness back where it should be 👍🏼 Glad your getting out still, keep making the vids there great 😊
