As a teacher in Math and Science for almost three decades, I would think this film would be motivation for Blacks, especially women, and I'd be wrong! I showed a film, Forgotten Genius in my Chemistry classes about Percy Lavon Julian and his brilliance and hard work.........and they didn't give a flying rat's ass!

When I was young in the fifties and early sixties the general opinion of many whites was blacks were not as smart. I should have heard this story and others like it in real time. What a shame the after effects of the Civil War had not abated. Now I’m 73yo and there are still racists no doubt many who are less intelligent than the races they look down on.

I watch it every time it’s on I am a white woman that was so incredibly happy that this movie was made for Black women who were honored for their intelligence and dignity. Kevin Costner is so amazing. Mr Costner is one actor who is not Racist May God Bless him for his integrity for all people
