    What a great topic there are verses in the bible that testify support the Book of Mormon and our doctrine they are both given to us from God if people really believe in the bible and live daily close to Jesus Christ 🙏 why cant they believe that a loving Heavenly Father still speaks to us with extra scripture through prophets The bible has several books that were put together called the bible by different prophets who were not perfect and when it sais at the end of the book of Reverlations dont take away from this book It means the book of Reverlations and its the same same with all books and the book of mormon There are many weird miricles in the bible that cannot be proven but when we pray sincerly God will manifest the truth to us through the Holy spirit

    I will pray for you to understand that the Mormon doctrine is totally false. I'm at ex Mormon who found the truth by comparing the beliefs of the Mormon church that completely contradict the Bible. I know this is hard to believe but be brave enough to compare all of these points. Mormons do not even believe in the same God or Jesus that exists in the Bible and that is just the start of the problem. This greatly grieves my heart. I pray you learn the truth and your eyes will be open to who Jesus really is all about.

      Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints do believe in the Jesus Christ who is testified of in the Bible. They stay far more true to His words than any other denomination or sect. They do differ from mainstream Protestant or Catholic doctrine, including the Nicene creed. They may differ from man-made doctrines, but they certainly do not differ from what the Spirit would teach a man who reads the Word of God and seeks His face. Thank you very much for your concern. Thank you for your prayers. I pray blessings and peace upon you and your family in Jesus name.

      @@SharonSeekingJesus Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus is an offspring of Heavenly father and Heavenly mother? We do not have a heavenly mother. Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers? Jesus is not merely our brother, let alone Lucifer's. Mormons believe that there were many gods even before the God that we have now. Where In the Bible does it mention that? Where does it say in the Bible that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings? How can you say that the Mormons believe in the same Jesus and God as the Bible? These are just a few of the differences. Isaiah 44:6: "There is no God besides me".

      @@mrsjmehta Here are a few verses to address each point you brought up. You asked, where in the Bible does it say _____? You can find my answer below. Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus is an offspring of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother? Hebrews 1:3-5 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. 5 For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”? Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus is our brother? Hebrews 2:11-18 “For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers, saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers;
in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.” … Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” Hebrews 5:7-9 7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. 8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. 9 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, Where in the Bible does it say that there are many gods? Psalm 82 “God presides in the divine assembly; He renders judgment among the gods: “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; uphold the rights of the afflicted and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked. They do not know or understand; they wander in the darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I have said, ‘You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.’ But like mortals you will die, and like rulers you will fall.” Arise, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are Your inheritance.” Where in the Bible does it say that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are separate beings? “Although the Bible contains numerous examples of the separate nature of the Father and the Son, there are only a few instances where all three members of the Godhead are described as separate and distinct. The best example is the baptism of Jesus Christ (Matt. 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:29-32). In all but John's account all three members of the Godhead are identified: the Father bearing witness "from heaven" (Matt. 3:17; Mark 1:11; Luke 3:22), the Son "coming up out of the water" (Mark 1:10), and the "Holy Ghost descending in a bodily shape like a dove" (Luke 3:22). All three members of the Godhead are clearly separate entities who, in this instance, are physically separated also.” In Stephen’s vision we see that Jesus Christ is standing at the right hand of God. There are two distinct beings present that Stephen can view in the vision: (Acts 7:55-56) 55 But [Stephen], full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” Jesus Speaking with Mary at the Tomb: (John 20:17) 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." In Daniel’s Vision, we see the Ancient of Days (God the Father) and “One like the Son of Man” (Jesus Christ), appear with physical bodies and they are meeting together in one place, as two distinct beings. 9 I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was like pure wool. 13 I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed. Do Latter-Day Saints believe that there is no other God besides God? “Do Latter-day Saints believe they can become “gods”?
“Latter-day Saints believe that God wants us to become like Him. But this teaching is often misrepresented by those who caricature the faith. The Latter-day Saint belief is no different than the biblical teaching, which states, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17). Through following Christ's teachings, Latter-day Saints believe all people can become "partakers of the divine nature" (2 Peter 1:4).” - Taken from the Church website Dear @mrsjmehta As to learning additional details about our existence and God’s nature, and the nature of all things, I wish to remind you that Paul, in all of his epistles, never claimed to be preaching meat. He always said that he was still only focusing on “milk,” and that one day, he would like to move on from the milk to “meat,” once we were ready. If you can find a passage in the bible that qualifies as “meat” and that is indicated as meat by Paul, then please point that out to me. But the Bible does not contain all the truth that exists, meaning it does not contain the fullness of God. The bible does not claim that it can contain all that He is. But His disciples are promised that by the power and gift of the Holy Spirit, they will be able to search even the depths of God. Please continue to hold onto his promises and search for Him diligently and find Him. I do not trust man or preacher, I trust my Lord Jesus Christ, who has led me here. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Paul’s teaching on milk vs. meat, and wanting to move on from the “elementary doctrine.” Hebrews 6:1-3
1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. 1 Corinthians 3:1-3
1 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human? 1 Corinthians 2: 6-16
6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. 7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”- 10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 11 For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. 14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

      @@SharonSeekingJesusStill no mention of Heavenly Father & Mother & Jesus being Lucifer's brother. I know that God, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit are one. James 1:14. We are saved through faith & not by works so no one can boost. Ephesians 2:8-10. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. (Deut. 4:2.) I chose to believe the Bible & only the Bible. I accept the Jesus of the Bible death on the cross for my sins & believed he rose again. Romans 10:9-11 9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. We do not need any other resources or works. When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, 'It is finished,' and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” (John 19:30).

    ! ! Thank you Sharon ! ! Your experience of sobbing in sacrament meeting reminded me of an experience I had in a sacrament meeting in 1989. My wife and I had been married several months. Because of our work schedule, we attended a Ward that met at a time that worked for my work schedule. The Bishop was Bishop Ahlert. He had a connection with President Benson from when, after the end of WWII, President Benson was in Denmark to assess the humanitarian needs. On this day, my wife and I were a few minutes late to sacrament meeting and we sat on the last bench in the chapel and the couple who was suppose to give talks, Richard and Maloo Thornell, didn't show up. So, Bishop Ahlert was speakibg and he was talking a lot about President Benson. Well, Lo and behold, a flower arrangement on the rostrom was obscuring someone who was sitting on the rostrum... it was the current Prophet, President Ezra Taft Benson ! ! When the meeting ending i found myself sobbing uncontrollably. Being one who doesn't cry much this was a seminal event for me !

    NOT one shred of evidence to support Joseph Smith's rantings. He taught Hill Cumorah was the site of the world's greatest battle--Not one sword, shield or other evidence there. The animals depicted in BoM did not exist during 500 BC to 1492. Of course, the Mormon apologists say : " its a different Hill Cumorah." The Book of Mormon is Smith’s invention, & plagiarism--the lack of any linguistic, archeological, or DNA evidence tying any tribe of Native Americans to ancient Israelis.

    Good job. What ever you do, don't look into the church history and church leadership. Don't research the BoM, D&C, Book of Abraham, Book of Commandments, Mountain Meadows Massacre, The Danites,, the pages Joseph Fielding Smith's tore out pages of Smiths journal relating to the multiple visions and hid in his personal safe for 30 years. For sure don't research the BoM's 85 anachronisms and doctrine changes and that a committee voted to change to word of GOD from "white and delightsome" to "fair and delightsome" I warn you, Do NOT do these things. These facts with shake your testimony and lead you away from Joseph Smith's church.

    According to hebrews 1,1, 2 Jesus Christ, the son of God, was sent at the end times. Therefore no one should come in the name of the God of the bible. I just realised that, those who ignored this warning have antichrist spirit working in them Islam came and attack the diety and death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jehovah witness came denied the diety of Christ Mormanism came same thing. Just the common sense will tell why would God who have stopped intervention through human prophet before Christs first coming will resum human prophet post again after He has ascended to the heaven?. Especially while the bible.says Jesus Christ has finished the work of redemption on.the cross. Sin sacrifice was needed to redeem people from the power of sin and death so they can recognise their God and obey Him so that they are not judged and destroyed. So whybon earth needed all sorts of wrong teaching. Jesus Christ made disciples and this was the plan until the return of Jesus Christ but above 3 religions have destroyed many souls.

One guy on my mission in Canada, when we started to put up the plan of salvation on a chalk board & explain where we came from, why we are here & where we will be going, he jumped up, excitedly & asked if he could finish the diagram & all the pieces that explained it. He was blown away that he knew the plan, in his heart, he said that is what he always believed, but he doesn't know where he learned it, he just knew it, but could not put it into a diagram. I heard later that he did get baptized.

    I've watched a few of your videos and find your story fascinating. I would agree with you that the church has become corrupt and there are a lot of false doctrines out there. This doesn't mean that the truth hasn't always been there though. "We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel." "This is what we must do to basically be with God on the other side of the veil."(7:53) In numerous places the New Testament says that it's through faith not obedience that we are saved. There is nothing we must do. Look up Ephesians 2:8-9 about works. It's by our heart that we are justified (Romans 10:10). This leads to action. Faith naturally leads to repentance, that leads to Baptism. In maintaining our faith, we are enduring until the end. I'm not a fan of the word "endure" though. It's something that should become easier over time as we walk in the Spirit. This is how I know I have the Holy Spirit. Denying myself keeps becoming easier, and I have become a slave to righteousness (Romans 6). Jesus says that the two greatest commandments are to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."(Mathew 22:37) "Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."(Mathew 22:39-40) Love is not an action, but it leads to it! This is the beauty of the Gospel! Let me ask you the same question I would ask an atheist. Do you believe what you believe b/c you think it's true or b/c you want it to be true? Deep down inside I believe most atheist don't want to worship God. It's an illusion. I read your PDF with all those verses. Let's just say I would interpret them very differently. I wish the LDS church was true. I don't want my nonbelieving friends to go to Hell, but morals come from God and I'm not him! I'm going to look at this (those verses for example) as objectively as possible. I encourage you to search the RUclips video "Former false prophet Andy Poland talks about Mormonism and feelings." His story is similar to yours, but he later found he was being deceived. Not all miracles come from God (Exodus 7) "Spiritual Witnesses" is another good RUclips video. -God Bless

      I would say that my interpretation of the scripture used to be very similar to what you just described. When a Jehovah Witness would bring up the “faith without works is dead,” verses, I used to lament in my heart that they had “just missed it,” and that they would be blessed to realize that we are justified by our “good works” but that we do those works after receiving the love and power of God freely, through our faith in Jesus Christ. We don’t work to earn anything. The good works in our life are just evidence and proof that we have faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot take credit for the good works the Holy Spirit does through us, but we can thank God for his wonderful goodness. No man will be boasting in heaven that his own works got him there. The works are a gift from the Holy Spirit that come naturally after having true faith in Jesus Christ. So now what? Are you a prophet to follow? Which church teaches the exact doctrine that you just stated? Is it Bethel, UPPERROOM, a house church, Joseph Prince, the Southern Baptist Convention, Desiring God, Lutheran, or Methodist? What church do you attend, where you are taught these exact things? Who is your prophet? If it is Jesus Christ, which church is He guiding and supporting to this very day? Where would you take someone who is seeking the truth? Where would you trust a little sheep to go and be fed? You said, “In numerous places, the New Testament says that it’s through faith not obedience that we are saved. There is nothing we must do.” So, what of the following passage in scripture? ”Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? “Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”-and he was called a friend of God. “You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.“ ‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬, ‭22‬-‭24‬ ‭ESV‬ I am not saying that these few verses encompass all the theology of God. Not at all. But you can see that it is easy to get caught up in phrases that are stated in the Bible. The most important thing is, what has Jesus revealed to you to be true? You will be judged according to your knowledge of what the Truth is. I will say, that though I used to say, “faith alone,” I can see that God will justify the man or woman who exercises charity over the man or woman who “believed all the right things.” If you don’t believe me, read 1 John, and Revelations, just to start. How many scriptures will you have to gloss over in order to maintain the narrative that you have typed? You can tell me lovely and beautiful things about your interpretation of the scripture. I used to sound like you, and I understand your mentality. I too had the Holy Spirit guiding me in my life, and I was in complete gratitude for all the goodness He worked out in my life, that was not of my own power or goodness. That does not make the doctrine you teach the Narrow Path. Jesus Christ has revealed his narrow path to me, and I will not deny him. I saw MANY miracles outside of this church before I discovered the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, ( all miracles come by faith in God) but I was able to discern that though people outside this church had the gift of prophecy, they were not leading me down the narrow path, and I sought God with all my heart about this, crying out to him, and one day I came across the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, as you have heard in my testimony video, and I found the narrow path. He continues to teach me about this path as I seek and find Him every day. I invite you to read this talk given by our Prophet. All are invited to receive personal revelation. I perceive that you have received your own revelation from God through seeking and finding. According to our prophet, this is available to all of us. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2018/04/revelation-for-the-church-revelation-for-our-lives?lang=eng I wish you the best. Maybe we will meet each other one day.

      I have watched the Andy Polland video several times. It has not shaken my conviction in what has been revealed to me to be True. I will look into the other video you suggested.

      @@SharonSeekingJesus I would agree with a lot of that video you sent. I'm not against personal revelation, but it has to go checked. I live in Utah and no, I don't go to that "evil" Apologia church. I can assure you many people leave the LDS church after they believe God told them it was not true in one way or another. The problem is personal revelation (God told me it's true or isn't true) goes both ways and it isn't unique to Mormonism. The real question becomes, why is it emphasized so much in the LDS faith if it's completely subjective. I would consider this a giant red flag. This isn't the case in other religions unless you count cults. There is no similar passage to the Moroni challenge in the bible, and please don't get my started on the abuse of James 1:5. I pasted James 2:24 into RUclips and found the answer immediately. What I suspected was correct. The Greek word for justified has two meanings. It can mean "to show to be righteous" or "declare righteous". God's word doesn't contradict if interpreted correctly. If you read that passage in context or even use the New Living Translation you will see it. I'm skeptical you didn't already know this. Did you really not take the short time to find the answer or was it a good "contradiction" not worth checking b/c it fits LDS doctrine? This would more than prove my point from earlier. Deep down inside you want the church to be true, so you are subconsciously (in this case consciously) reading the bible to make it fit LDS doctrine. Same goes for other church issues I might add. I try to read it as objectively as I can. That's part of why I occasionally listen to David Alexander. If I'm wrong about James 2:24 and you have something really clever up your sleeves, I would love to hear it!
