@@GameroftheWinds Usually made to order due to how niche they are haha. There was one particular school near where I lived that ordered one for use in a competition, but ended up not having the funds (in that financial year) to finish the purchase. And I happened to be in the market for one, so i bought it off the guy who imported the instrument. XD

Alto Guan (well, actually all Guanzi in general) are fairly niche even in Chinese speaking communities - they are often made to order. If you're in Singapore or Taiwan, I may be able to offer some contacts. Else, would probably be tough.

Hahaha thanks so much for the question - but sadly I might have to disappoint >< The thing is, as a musician who's still in the process of finding a suitable reed, I've not had the desire to try the Vandoren ones yet because 1) They come in a huuuuge variety of cuts - I figured I'd try out the D'addario family or reeds first 2) They tend to be fairly inconsistent - or so I've heard Based on what little literature I could find on the post-rebranding D'addario reeds (i.e. after switching to a digital manufacturing process) though, I can only tell that they do play a little differently. In fact when it first launched, the guests invited to the demonstration of the new reeds noted that there was (and I'm paraphrasing here) a odd humming/buzzing noise produced. That being said, many later reviews have also said the the Reserve line (not the Reserve Classic) plays (to a certain extent) similarly to the Vandoren Traditional (aka blue box). But the good thing is that D'addario Reeds come in packs of 2 to try out, as well as tester packs (i.e. pack of 4; 2 sizes of 2 cuts), so you could always give them a try (#notsponsored) - do let me know your thoughts on them if you do!! And... wow, you spotted my intent >< Yeah, I wanted to document the process so that I can refer back later. ... And also have something to make myself feel better when I'm feeling down XD P.S.: Checked out your channel; sorry to hear about your troubles, you seem to be going through a lot.
