Hi Aleksandra, I'm so happy to hear that my video was very helpful and that you now feel confident about your decision for your home paint colour. That is correct; for the ceiling, I do recommend Flat White ( Paint Product) -that's what it's called from Dulux colour vivid white, this colour has no undertone and its will bounce the light beautifully in your space. Because you have cornices, it is good to paint them in the same colour as the ceiling, as they create a subtle distinction between the wall and ceiling. If you didn't have any cornices, I would recommend Natural White on the ceiling as well. I hope this helps you. 🙏

@@ellalaird7162 hi Ella, you have a very good eye for color that is true soft whites which natural white belongs to have both pink and yellow undertone, but pink is the one that dominate the most. However, in your case, you can see more yellow undertone, which is telling me you have a very good eye for color, but the yellow undertone would also pop through, if you have wood flooring that has more yellow in it so I’m not sure what fixed elements you have in your house. They will also bring out the undertone in color because when you work with neutrals all these undertones come to light. Unfortunately, no one tells you that soft whites have both undertones but pink and yellow, but they do.

@@HomeColorTipsAndIdeas thanks for your response, I’m a designer and I get this same criticism from clients where we’ve sampled natural white. I think the issue with the colour is that Dulux hasn’t perfected their swatch to be reflective of the true natural white colour. The flooring is different in all properties I’ve worked in and the colour always throws yellow. In my own house, however, my flooring is a dark ash with a pinky-ochre undertone, so technically the wall should show the same difference as the swatch in your video, but all it does is accentuates the creaminess of natural white. I found that Haymes Bleached White is actually more true to the swatch of natural white, but only when purchased from the supplier - and not when colourmatched with another brand. It’s such a shame about natural white because the swatch of it is just perfection!

If you have white stone then I can recommend a color or if you have e black that is also easy then. Beige has 4 undertones we have e to be careful.

Do you have wood flooring laminate flooring? All these things are very important when you want to choose a color because we need to determine category or warm category and which undertones you have in your space, I hope this helps you. @@HomeColorTipsAndIdeas oh, I’m so excited as this is the white I wanted to use, but finding hard to make final commitment. Your videos are perfect for getting the combinations spot on. I love the grey green tint look for interior. I’m tempted to use whisper white on exterior weatherboard cottage too. As an exterior trim colour as a find vivid white too stark. And maybe just do the weather boards double strength whisper white?Decisions, Decisions. Thanks for replying.

@@heatherobrien7782 you can definitely use it outside you will see a bit of yellow undertone coming trough but it’s very soft. If your windows are white Whisper white will create the lovely contrast.

What is the color of your Brick. Brick is a fixed element and it has an undertone you have to be careful and choose the color that works with your brick. Unless I see the colour of your brick I'm not able to tell you if the father soft would work.

Thanks for your reply. The front of the house half is horizontal weatherboard and the other half is brick both painted in stormy shadow. The sides and the back of the house still on bare brick looks like orange colour. But we are planning to paint the whole house in feather soft but will apply a primer first. Roof is shale gray and gutters and fascia boards in vivid white.

Hi Monique, I have used Grey with the green undertone colours : Dulux Feather Soft , Silo Grain and Shadow Catcher Beige with the green undertone are Dulux Candle bark, Humble Fawn and Beige delight . When it comes choosing cabinet door you must choose the stone first your stone first, the colours in your stone will be used for the upper or lower cabinets. Unfortunately Australian colors and UK Dulux Colours have different names. I just had a look on Dulux UK website and it looks that natural white would be the closes to Absolute White. I hope this helps you.

Green color and neutrals with the green undertone love soft whites that have a yellow undertone. If you look at the nature you can see so many flowers with yellow and green. Just make sure to Crete a color scheme and repeat the colors that is the key to success.

@@HomeColorTipsAndIdeas @HomeColorTipsAndIdeas the flooring is very light colored tiles. There is no carpet. The window and balcony are towards the south. With the door closed it is a medium lit room but not dark. Its more like a moody room with the current color. The LRV of the white used in it must be around 75. For the new colors, I was thinking of a light sage green and a darker sage green combination. Oh , and the shelf has a wooden finish(not light, not dark).

@@tradehut2782 that’s perfect. Then you have nothing to worry about. Don’t start painting before you test the color first, and second before you create a color scheme. Once you have all that you will have confidence to use the color on your wall. Do you know how to create a color scheme?

Hi , you would use it on the walls, it will create a lovely contrast from vivid white. It can be used on kitchen cabinets only if the stone has the same white. I hope this helps.

it all depends of the style of the house you have. If you home is very contemporary without any corners paint everything in Natural white. If you have more traditional home with the cornice paint your ceiling in flat white. I hope this helps you.

Do you have any trees in the south facing? It’s very common for north facing to be very dark. I have never seen one that is very light.

@vrjhalliday. The video is most likely talking about daylight in the Northern hemisphere. In the Northern hemisphere, the most sunlight comes from their South side and their darkest side is the North side. For us Australians in the Southern hemisphere, it's the opposite. We get the most sunlight from our north side. Our darkest side is the south side. When I watch gardening videos from countries in the Northern hemisphere, like America etc., I covert it to the opposite of what they say when they mention dayligh directions and seasons.

I wish I could add a picture. - you can’t see the roof or gutter - it’s a flat roof and has a 1m high edge around the house that hides it - I’d like a complementary colour for it and downpipes are the stucco volot so will be the new wall colour - Feathersoft

I have just checked and it would work perfectly because white polar quarter is a soft white and it matched perfectly the undertone of the silver the set however make sure that you have same undertone in your space like furniture and accessories. I hope this helps you.

Hi Sarah, not this will not go. To Choose the perfect paint color for your lower end up a couple minutes. You have to look at your stone stone, your splash back and your cabinets have to have the same on the time so this color would not work but I also have to see the picture of the stone and a splash but you had selected in order to help you. Feather soft is a beautiful neutral. There is a lot of things to consider when selecting a color pallets. I don’t know what kind of furniture you have and what your fixed elements are like. Like flooring or stone. Do you have an inspirational image. ?
