My man so polite
Cimento -massa de construção
The pronunciation is "A-za" when meant to translate to "wing". "A-sa" or "Assa" means "to bake".
Muito obrigado :) Nao sabia disso!
@@Lets_Learn_Languages just like the pronunciation of "Asia", lots of portuguese words uses the "z" sound instead of the "s" sound. Examples: - "Casa" (Ka-za) that translates to "House" or "Home" (depending on the context) Rosa (Ho-za) that translates to "Rose"; Lousa (Lo-uh-za) that translates to "Blackboard"; "Usar" (Uh-zar) that translates to "To use". Words with "s" sound are marked by doubling the "s" like "Assado" (Ah-sa-doh) meaning "baked"; "Massa" (Mah-sa) meaning "dough" or "pasta" (depending on the context); "Pássaro" (Pah-sa-ro) meaning "bird".
@@carloscompadre3282 Muito obrigado! Nao percebi isso ate voce diz! Isso me-ajuda muito :)

Muito legal! Nesse caso, nós utilizamos a partícula "se". "Você vai SE esconder". Esse "se" significa que a pessoa não irá esconder alguma coisa, mas irá esconder a ela mesma.
Ahhhh entendi. Obg pra a explinacao! E muito util pra mim :)
I started using Duocards alongside Duolingo and it helped me a lot.

Qual e a sua sobremesa favorita?
Gosto bolo de queijo MUITO
@Lets_Learn_Languages esse e brabo, mas eu prefiro um capuccino gelado
not a beginner but i actually never thought about how weird the letter x is in portuguese. makes me feel smart also i wish everyone was made to watch a video like this before pronouncing any name or word in portuguese so they couldn't just use their vaguely spanishy accent
Yeah, the x is the only phonetically inconsistent letter in Portuguese (except the open and closed vowels), I don't know how you all learn English lmao
oh I'm not brazilian either actually. but yea the open vs closed e and o were so hard to learn.. don't remember if you have any videos on that but that could be a good topic to talk about to help gatekeep portuguese :> i love speaking a language with massive numbers of speakers that is still somehow kind of niche
@@remiel_sz Oh shit, actually? Well good on you for learning it! Yeah open and closed vowels are so hard... 2 years in and I was still complaining to my friend in Brazil lmao. Speaking Brazillian has a video on open and closed vowels, and I had a video ranking the difficulty of new sounds in Portuguese, but other than that, I don't know of any. Might be worth it to make one, for sure. And yes, I also love speaking Portuguese... it feels like you connect with people much better... idk
Cool!
Thanks!
Você está bem no portugues! parabéns
Muito obrigado! Tou tendano muito!

Thanks teacheeer :)
I am happy I am finally helping someone with Portuguese!
Hey man, you're doing absolutely amazing! I'm brazilian and I'm really proud of you!! I'm trying to learn Japanese and that's my greatest challenge haha!! Keep it up 😎😎

Thanks!
You are doing well, come to Brazil and u will learn more faster
That's the plan! Thanks for the compliment!
It’s really nice to see Americans learning pt, keep going, you’re improving a lot, I really like your videos. Regards the word you said, ameno, I never heard that before.
It was in a book! 🤷♂️
And thank you for the compliment!
Another learning experience for me, thank you. I didn't know the word Mild. A tip about "ameno" is that it's not a word you'll hear a lot in everyday life, as it's very formal. When a food is not very strong, in almost 99% of cases we will say that it is "suave". Where I hear the word "mild" the most is usually when someone is talking about the weather on TV. There you will really hear that word a lot haha.
OHHH THE WEATHER TOP THATS SO TRUE. thank you for telling me abt suave I will have to use that one :]

Nice portuguese. Where are you from?
I'm from the USA!
Hi friend, everything is fine, don't be shy, you'll get there too. I want to learn English, if you want to learn Portuguese with me, I'm also halfway there.
Boa sorte!
Fala amigo tudo certo, não precisa ficar tímido você vai chegar lá também quero aprender a língua inglesa, se você quiser aprender comigo o português eu estou também no meio do caminho
Nice!!! Keep going! Your Portuguese is very good already!
Obrigado!
If you can't find a native, use AI. Chat GPT has been as good as a native teacher in responding to my queries about Russian.
No its now normal
.In portuguese normaly we say "made out of" as: "feito de ...." .Getting this example of the ciment, the sentence would be: "a CALÇADA (is sidewalk i think) é feita de cimento". Edit: This is a curiosity too. In Brazil, it is very rare for the pavement to be made of concrete like the highways in the USA. Here in 99% of places everything is asphalt. Im jealous of that sometimes tbh 😅.
Ah muito obrigado! É muito bom aqui :)
Well done! Ususally we here describe "lar" as: "todo o lugar onde nos sentimos em casa. Então esse lugar é o nosso lar".
lar = home
The way I see it, DuoLingo is great for a backbone, for a BASE, for exposure, and keeping you exposed. For that I say DuoLingo is great. That being said, you need to expose yourself to more than just the exercises; listen to the podcast, watch videos in Spanish, try to read in Spainsh, listen to music in Spanish, and for me, the most important is try to use it with other people. I've been fortunate to work with a lot of Spanish speakers here in the US so I've been able to use my learning at least five days a week and they know I'm learning so a lot of times now, they just talk to me in Spanish. I started using duolingo, and still do, and it's helped be build a backbone for my Spanish, a lot of the time when I use Spanish I'm using concepts from DuoLingo. Actually using Spanish in person helps me learn new ways to talk in conversation and gets me to points where I have to critically think how to conjugate sentences or ideas. The main point is to just expose yourself and be willing to make mistakes.
boaaa!! perfeita explicação
Você fala português muito bem!! Parabéns 👏👏👏
Go for it! 👏
