England has been trash before and after 66. How is Southgate to blame? When Maradonna beat 6 English defenders and unhinged the German defense for Burruchaga which part of the coach was responsible? When Zidane destroyed Brazil or Kempes destroyed the Dutch. When Italy won on Penalties or Rossi single handedly dessimated Brazil and Italy . Was the coach responsible? Robson was a great coach but without Gaza England would never have made the Semi Final. All those World Class Players before the tournament. The same persons who called them World Class was asking for them to be dropped and be replaced by Mainoo Eze Ollie Palmer Toney internationally unproven players. Always looking for someone to blame.

i fully believe given the time Southgate could've done something amazing if he broadened his offensive horizons just a little bit more i think his strategy was to make an offensive team defend until they found an opportunity to attack which was good in ideology but other teams were more well rounded with their team the defenders defended and the attackers attacked that was our problem trying to make attackers to defend while the other attackers (who are arguably more talented) can just focus on attacking if he hired actuall defenders we would've had a better chance cause the attackers could focus on doing their thing(we should've kept him for the olympics tho because now our chances will be considerably lower seeing that the transition will be abrupt

What are you talking about ('bringing football home')? On the 14th of July 2024 football decided to go home. It's home is Spain (yes that greater part of the Iberian Peninsula you don't occupy). Spain won the Championships 4 (FOUR) times. How many times did England ('the glorious nation') won? Oh yeah ........less than 'smaller nations' like Portugal, The Netherlands, Denmark, Czechslovakia and Greece, i.e 0 (ZERO) times. As a footie-lover I am greatful the english invented the game. But like the language they spread the game. Now, it's played almost everywhere in the world. So, you english don't own the game anymore.Get over it. I have watched & listed to the english commentaries before & after the final. It seems you have this wonderful distorted view of the reality. It seems there should be only 1 winner: glorious england, and the rest is inconsequential. Sadly, (it's not only england), more & more being patriotic is often confused with nationalistic, or xenophobic or worse racist fervor. Football's home is each tournament's winner, and Spain is without any doubt the deserved winner for 2024 Championships. Well done Espana for not disappointing real lovers of the game.

I think like a lot of Aussies, he just had a team first mentality, didn't want to be a star.. was happy to just facilitate for Embiid which slowly weakened his own game, his facilitator role was still getting the job done in his last season at Philly but as they lost to Hawks, he was scapegoated.. others were more to blame for that one, especially Embiid for his 4-20 in game 4. I don't think he's even been healthy at Nets yet, hopefully things will turn around this season and he wants to prove people wrong in a team without star players to defer to.

The truth is that Philly destroyed his career when they let the media/fans pressure them into getting rid of Simmons. Simmons was a top notch passer and an elite defender. Him missing those free throws against Atlanta was bad, but they should have stuck by him. There have been plenty of pgs who weren’t good on the offensive end. They just didn’t have the harsh Philly fans ready to boot them outta town. Kidd nor Rondo were good shooters, and they both had hella hood careers. Letting Simmons go hurt Philly and Simmons at the same time

I don't think his story is over yet. He still has an opportunity to develop as a shooter and get his head right. I know there are people saying that he has shown that he cannot do this. I do not agree. Competent shooting is learned. Dealing with the thought process behind shooting can also be learned. This is different than rebounding or taking the ball to the basket. Those are in the moment sort of automatically as they are effort based. Shooting is about finding your quiet spot inside and living there. This is a spot that does not have intent or results. It is a spot where only the movement you have done a million times occurs. Ben is thinking. You can learn not to do that. Ask the Dalai Lama.
