Thanks, man! On the AI aspect, though... depends on the band and their circumstances, I suppose. Linkin Park have the money to produce real-world videos, but they went with AI, which I thought was odd. We don't have the money to produce a video, and the song itself was pretty much a last-minute "let's do this!" decision. So our options were to not release it on RUclips at all (which is where we get the majority of our new followers from, and, with the industry being so screwed, that's important to us), release it with just static cover art (bleh... do you really want to stare at the same image for ten minutes?) or do something that's visual that won't mean the band members have to take money out their own (empty) pockets for it. In this case, the video itself is really just to have movement in the background and nothing more so you're not staring at a static image for the duration. Thing is, out of more than 300 video clips that were rendered, only half were used, and it still took time to edit - we didn't just write a prompt of "Hey, make a 10-minute video for me". It still took me a lot of work - LUTs, transitions, pans, zooms, clip durations, effects, and about two days worth of work in Premiere. You've said it yourself in the descriptions of your own videos, too, man... if it's not monetised and it's just for fun, and it's something you aren't able to produce yourself... then it's okay. As for your own creative outlet... you may not be a musician, but you can surely write lyrics. So write lyrics, and get on somewhere like Bandmix, Vampr, Bandlab... there's even Facebook and Discord groups where you can find people to collaborate with. Personally speaking (and I'm the singer for Tantrum), I've collaborated with folk all over the world online where I've been the singer, the guitarist, the drummer, the bassist, and even just the lyricist. If you have the passion, man, do it! Find people who can collaborate with you and see what you can do. Even if it's just a songwriting credit, you're still part of the process and you'll still be discussing the direction with the other collaborators, especially if they're working to your lyrical vision. If you can pull folk together, I'll sing on it for you. Or I'll drum on it. Or both. Can't be bothered writing riffs at the moment, though 🤣 What do you reckon?

@@TantrumScotland Oh, it's not monetised? That does change things. I only hate this AI stuff when it comes to bands selling AI generated content, I guess I just love the oldschool type of style, where the whole process is done with creativity and love. I do get that that's not always an option for bands with little expenses for music videos but as long as the music is 100% genuine and it's not just thrown together for a quick sale then happy days.

@@conwythemilkman298 Nah... in fact... not only are we not monetised, but we regularly have to file disputes with Facebook because our digital distributor (who, I suppose, are only looking after our own interests) constantly smack us with copyright disputes saying that we (as in the TANTRUM page... with the band logo, the band members, and it listed as an official page) are posting up video content that contains music owned by.... TANTRUM! Every time, we have to fill out the dispute form and explain that, y'know, that's us. Gets worse, though... we recently had to report people on Spotify who had taken our Another Life album, uploaded it with the songs playing at 90% speed, changed the song names (I think "Sands of Time" had been changed to "Passing of Time" or something like that) and were literally stealing entire albums from us. We have to stay on top of all this every day or we get robbed. AND... I'm also the guy who designs our art. I've been a full-time professional graphic designer for more than thirty years (yes, I'm old), and I have to spend around an hour every day sending off DMCA notices to RedBubble, eBay, Displate, Qwertee, and countless others because my artwork (not the Tantrum stuff, just my other stuff - they haven't yet cottoned on to the stuff I do for Tantrum, or maybe it's because there's a huge logo on it) is being listed for sale by dozens of people every week. It's crazy.
