I have an old Mossberg like that, but the rare 500B 16 gauge. I have shot ported shotguns before, they do reduce felt recoil but also in this case, muzzle flip. My buddy has a Mossberg 190 16 gauge bolt action shotgun, it's got a ported barrel. The muzzle flip was never insane in 16 gauge (outside Magnum loads), so it really feels comfy shooting that gun all day long. But only the sides are ported, three large slots on each side. I'd say a 10-20% reduction in felt recoil, roughly 35% or more reduction in muzzle flip. All depends on the porting done. Depending if you are a lefty or righty, you may want slightly more of those small ports to one side or due to a shotgun being semi auto, to balance the recoil to the center not off to the right. In cases of semi-auto guns, they flip up and over to the right, because the mechanism, and the ejection port are too the right, giving a slight imbalance in recoil direction. I have done a lot of research on porting and muzzle braking firearms. If I could, I would make my own from scratch.

Helpful video. I have a MK111 with a red dot sight. THat is the mose accurate pistol I have ever had. I really love red dots on these Rugers. I have a MK1V litel with a red dot that is awesome.

I happened to do the same yesterday. Just cleaned and lubed all the external moving bits on the carb and the throttle and now it runs like a Ferrari again.

Lee makes a Hollow Based mold for a 45cal 405gr bullet that duplicates the original 45-70. Yes, 45-70 bullet worked on same principal as the rifled musket, with a hollow based bullet.

how you like that welder just wondering i can get same one with tank and cart for 400 might be able to get it for 350 if im a good talker lol i dont have 220v in the garage so trying to find best buy 110 or 120 volt welder. so far this one or a hobart handler 140 is what i came up with but ill be a first time welder but im a jack of all trades

I did the replacement just now and it seems to be working well.. This is like the 4th flapper I've put on in the last year. Various brands too. I just assumed that the standpipe shape didn't match the rounded part of the flapper, so how do you know they will seal properly? This kit eliminates that issue. Anyway,,, thanks for posting this video.
