Thank you for sharing how to gel coat. I value your experience.
Do you have videos to show how a plug of a jet model could be made using foam and formers? It looks like from your intro you used this method for the A-6? Your videos are fantastic and extremely informative. Please keep up the great work! OBTW...I would like to see the P-80 for the next project versus the T-33. Everybody makes a T-33. Just my 2 cents worth. Thank you again for your wonderful videos! 15:45
Are you from Nottinghamshire originally?
I've been passionate about this hobby since childhood, so I can recognize the difference between skill levels. You are an excellent builder, and I really enjoy watching your videos.
Thanks very much
This hobby is expensive so it's better to try it and earn some money. Why don't you make kits to sell of your beautiful models? Especially the Eurofighter, Tucano and the A6?
any of the mentioned kits would cost 3K or more due to hours and materials. Most prefer to spend a few hundred bucks on a ready to fly foam plane.
Very nice to see someone doing just about what i want to do ---i e make glass glider wings . One part i don't get Sir is the tooling goat , what is this and how does it work. i under stand a little about making moulds but have always worked in sand Foundey moulder by trade , I thought you would have started with a gel coat. Sure would like a little help. Thanks john.
only used on molds, it provides a harder surface for many layups
Lay up a few planes for sale. Provide some internal laser cut parts.
nobody wants to pay what it would cost
Great instructional video, thank you
Masterpeice!!
please pdf
I like to stipple the brushes on sticky masking tape to pull the loose bristles. Enjoying the content. Thank you.
adoro questo canale!!
MAGA!
The Dems have screwed not only America, but the whole western world.
Biden is a Desaster
Niiiiice!
Could you add the part to a vacuum chamber to remove air bubbles?
possibly but under vacuum everything will swell and maybe distort the cloth.
Thank you for this excellent tutorial! Question: What does the aluminum powder do for the material?
the aluminum powder adds surface hardness. You could also use pretty much any metal powder but must be in microns fineness
@@britcharming Oh! That didn't occur to me. Do you use aluminum powder in most of you moulds?
Yes always
nothing
I would draw it in half and mirror it, so both sides match, Thanks for your vid
if I was doing a 3D part I would have. This is just to mount the part for the parting plane
THANKS FOR "SHARING" THIS VIDEO!! [IMHO: THAT JET MODEL LOOKS TO BE VERY "HEAVY"/"HEAVY DUTY"!!!]....WHAT DOES IT WEIGH??!!...
Flying weight is around 21.5 lbs
Hi, great workd! may I ask why you did not use molding (or tooling) epoxy as a first layer in order to get a good & hard mold surface? How did the mold surface look like? Were there cavities?
Some small parts do not require a tool coat due to ease of removal. I do use a tool coat on most parts.
what model retract did you use for the nose gear?
It's the 90 mm large PZ5 series from hobby king. I use these on all my larger model 20 lbs plus in weight.
Great job !! It would be great if the video lasted longer, each part is very interesting. Every week I look forward to updates.
Thanks for watching. I cut the video time due to lack of interest. I'd much rather do longer more informative vids but most watchers only watch around two to three minutes of the videos. This really hurts the channel and makes it not worth my time to continue with better and longer vids. Blame the audience... laugh
Love it ! Pretty work
Thanks for watching
For putting my Cabosil I use a sandwich bag, and just put in the can when done with it
For Epoxy mixing I use a scale only for the last 40 years
All I can say is WOW! Very nice!
Thank you very much!
Are the exhaust nozzles for a Carf sized Eurosport? are they available for purchase? Thanks Graham
I have no idea
@@britcharming What scale is your eurofighter aircraft?
Sorry I forgot to say that your work is pretty outstanding sir.:)
@@willo996 I forget the scale size I think it is around 1/9th scale. The end to end is 76" and 21 lbs flying weight
@@britcharming Ok then maybe a bit smaller than the Carf version, I think I might follow some of your advice and try and make my own mould. Thank you again sir.:)
Can you show how you designed the prop blades? I'd like to know which airfoil you used, how you calculated the pitch at various diameter stations, and how you modeled the plan view of the prop, and how you transitioned the cross section at the root to the actual prop airfoil.
the blades are purchased from motionRC and are 12 pitch large spitfire. The hub is my design
@@britcharming Shoot dang. I was planning on designing a dovetail and screw retaining system and swept blades (ala C-130).
Beautiful.
Thank you! Cheers!
I love your builds and videos sir! Ive been in the hobby for 2 1/2 yrs now and enjoy flying and building myself. Constructing a plane from composite molds is a dream of mine to learn to do.Thank you again for taking the time to bring quality videos🙂
That is awesome!
Looking good Bro. I got the timer figured out on the Graupner. Set it up on a throttle curve, the Dragon is ready. Hope to fly on Sunday
Very nice as always! The A6 would be a difficult one to fully duct. I just ducted my Byron's A4 intake which was a "simple" 3 week job...
Great Work!!
Super nice
Great job...
Excellent work, with great details that I can see now, and I also discovered that you live in England, sorry for my disorientation,,,🤦 I wait for the next video,,😀
I saw a build of the Chuck Graves Fokker where the builder used rare earth magnets on the inside of the clear canopy and outside of the frames to clamp them together while the canopy glue dried. Used 3/8 dia magnets about 1/2 inch apart or so? Looked like it worked great.
Hi Jim. Fantastic, pleased to see you again. Your vids are brill..; I know you felt you weren’t progressing on you tube. ,,,, But your closing in on 2k. Please keep going. Your advice is invaluable. Craig uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Amazing work, great to see it coming together 👌
Beautiful
Love this channel
I’m surprised the PVA doesn’t fill in the rivet details
Ava cures to microns thick so great for details
Really enjoying your channel. How did you cut the parting plane so perfect around the wing?
great deal of skill... laugh
Did the sinks still look good after a week? Month? Year?
Look better than purchased... very pleased
Really well done, great engineering
Looking better and better with each video 👌
This is another of the uses of the finger.
If you could make more explanatory videos on how to simulate rivets, that would be great! Thank you for your willingness to present these secrets and congratulations on the model aircraft, they are fantastic. Marcos - Brazil - South America
Look in the playlist under tucano and I have a detailed video on rivets
I was just wondering how the sinks are doing one year later?
Look brand new like the day I did them
