Game of Thrones - Barristan "The Bold" Selmy Compilation (Season 1)
A compilation of important Barristan Selmy moments from season one of Game of Thrones. Not every scene where Barristan appears is included, since the point was to gather the moments where Barristan is in focus or atleast in a greater role, and scenes which build the character or give insight into him. Some scenes are also cut, to remove the parts which are not directly relevant to Barristan himself.

Game of Thrones - Bran Stark - Brilliant Scenes
Просмотров 336 тыс.11 лет назад
Part of Brandon Stark's storyline told through a couple of the in my opinion most brilliant scenes of Bran. However, when making a "highlight" video of Game of Thrones we all know that you might as well include every single scene of the series, but for practical reasons many great scenes are not included above. Besides picking out great Bran moments I have also firstly aimed for scenes that tie...
Game of Thrones - Yoren - Brother of the Night's Watch

A humble project, mostly produced to try out new video editing software. A compilation of Yoren-moments felt like a good concept, with this "wandering crow" being a somewhat minor, nevertheless interesting character, from a universe which I greatly admire. So keep in mind that this is in many ways just a test and that I welcome and appreciate constructive criticism. On a final note; night gathe...
The conversations in the first season were so natural you almost think the directors just told those actors be creative
Robert's first kill wasn't at Summerhall. His first kill was at Gulltown. An oversight by the showrunners.
Ned Stark saying that he was lucky not to have faced Barristan one to one says a lot. He saw with his own eyes what Arthur Dayne could do. Selmy had the same reputation 🙂
Renly was a good man
Jaime Lannister, a man who scoffed at honor and tradition, respected Barristan for keeping true to what a knight should be. Doing what he couldn’t manage (due to the whole contradictory orders things)
Varys was such a damn good character holy shit
I don’t think Barristan is as honorable and good as everyone thinks. He stood by idly during all of Aery’s atrocities and outlived the king he swore to protect, as evil as he was. Then vowed to protect Robert who defeated his former King instead of dedicating himself to the living Targaryens. If he was true to his word, he would have dedicated himself to Viserys in exile, instead, he vowed to protect a rebel.
if only it ended with the city guard taking them into custody.
Barristan Selmy may one of the finest swordman but he was stupid & coward. Jamie even far better than Barristan Selmy when comes shown to bravery.
King slayer get in here, king bobby b
My favorite part of this video is when Ned said “ Ser Barriston is a good man do him no harm”. As if they could. Lol
Sir baristain should have agreed upon kings letter he is not a man of faith
Tell him he had a good run before you throw him from the tower
Can you imagine this guy in his prime? (20 - 30) years of age? Dude would be unstoppable.
I’d love to see a young Barristan Selmy movie or series ❤ He was so badass, even as an older gentleman.
Robert had the sense to not put a fucking child on the throne but not enough sense to tell people about it
"You ever make the 8 Barristan?" "I dont believe so your grace" "HaHaHaHa"
Barristan Selmy was the honour of the white cloaks, the moment that white cloak hit the floor the honour of the guard took a smear that would never dissapear.
In a show full of badasses, Ser Barristan Selmy was the baddest of them all. The Iron Throne was made of the swords of the enemies of the king. Ser Barristan openly declared himself an enemy of the throne by telling Joffrey to melt his sword down, then disarmed himself and walked away, daring anyone to come after him. He was such a mighty warrior, even at his age, that even The Hound felt the need to ready his sword when Ser Barristan drew his, despite the presence of 4 other Kingsguard and a host of Gold Cloaks...
Jaime lannister was Selmy squire
Hear me roar
A cape that drags the ground seems like a terrible thing to wear while fighting.
Ser Arthur would have killed Each Kingsguard with his left hand while taking a piss😂..... Ser Barristan could have carved them like a piece of cake 😂..... That was the standard..... Jamie saw the greatest of kingsguards and the shittiest too ❤❤
Isaac was PERFECT!
11:11 minutes-long video. Blessed digits
"Sir BARISTAN the BOLD" a name well deserved, see how boldly he declared himself as king Jeffery's enemy and boldly tells the king's guard that he could cut through the 5 of them as he would a piece of cake 🍰 and walk out boldly with nobody to dare cross him "Sir BARISTAN the BOLD"
I wanna put "More wine your grace?" On a T shirt lmfaaooo
She just said eff the king I'm taking over
Cersei tried to retire Ser Barristan like Bill Belichek tried w Tom Brady, who ends up winning a superbowl a year later on a new team 😂 Ser Barristan was close to a similar result if those annoying masked Harpys didnt bum rush him and greyworm in a narrow tunnel
The scene of the hunt still disappoints me, a whole story based on real history based in medieval times and the showrunners couldn't give more than a few main characters to the plot for Robert's death. A royal hunt isn't just the king, a squire and a couple other knights, a hunt isa grand affair with dozens of lords and knights with the king on horseback chasing animals with dozens of other soldiers and hunters driving animals into the path of the king's entourage, with a large camp set out in a clearing with more lords and ladies all around to participate in festivities throughout the day and setting up for a feast of the hunted animals into the evenings for several days at a time. I understand they had financial constraints but I imagine they could've pooled together 12 or 20 other men on horseback as well as the four men here to ride around on a proper hunt and then Robert gets down from his horse to hunt a boar and gets gored by it. Even R.R. Martin agreed with this entiment, said one of the only disappointments with the first couple of seasons was the lack of a proper hunting party.
Gotta love how Barristan willingly defied the last will and testament of Robert Baratheon, just because his widow said so. Real progressive of him.
Man, just look at this scene and you'll realise how incredible Jaime's character development was.
It was a big mistake for Cersei and Joffrey to disservice Barriston. Even Tywin was pissed off about it or told them it was a dumb idea during one scene. Jaime definitely knows it was a bad move since he knew Barriston personally and even saw him in action.
i am straight but i had a crush on season 1 little brian,he is so cute
Sir Selmy could've stopped all this by saying that technically she has no power now, as according to the king the last wishes of the king was to technically give power to Ned stark
I wish Barristan never gave that note to Cersi and kept it protected
The worst thing Robert did was not making everything crystal clear in front of everyone. Idk if it would make a difference but better than a letter
More wine your grace? Selmy knew something was off. Little prick. Literally what Robert was talking about , cowards using poison and sneaking vs manning up and facing your enemies outright.
Ned stark will always be the winner of the Game of Thrones
The fact Selmy was the only one who stood vigil for the death of a young unknown Knight killed in his first joust... That was beautiful and showed so much character within Barristan.
Renley is just solidifying why bobby should be the king
There is NOTHING brilliant or entertaining about bran. He is a complete waste of screen time.

The evolution of Jamie’s character is great. Same in the books. You really hate him at first, especially after he pushed Bran out that window. But then you start reading things from his perspective and you start having some sympathy for him.
Renly and Robert interacting is pure gold. Renly won’t have any of Roberts stories, because he is a man of peace and ironically he too possesses the typical Baratheon fury which he uses to put Robert in his place, reminding him that those times of war were horrible. Robert might’ve been a great warrior but Stannis and Renly always put him in his place.Them and Ned are the only people who can unnerve him because to some extent they love him.He knows all that and angrily takes another drink from the wine lol.
No wonder Jaime is SO good. Being trained by Barristan Selmy and Arthur Dayne, possibly the two greatest swordsman’s who ever lived.
And Bron! 😂
I didn't really care about "the royal hunt scene". But the way he stomps about with a spear shouting across half the forest is kinda out there.
"...More wine your grace?"
Extremely subtle, but watch the hounds reaction when selmy draws his sword. This kind of nuanced writing and/or acting decisions is what made the first few seasons as great as they were!
I like Joffrey's fear when ser barristan told him to keep the blade 😀
