Composition Technique - replace an existing tune with your own - Part 2!
Просмотров 22Год назад
Here's another example of replacing existing content with your own! This time we started with Shubert's classic "Ave Maria" - replaced the melody with something totally new, and then created a new accompaniment that fits against that new, original melody. In the end, we have a totally new piece of music!

Composition Technique - replace an existing tune with your own
Просмотров 26Год назад
Here's a really simple "how-to" for composers - whether you're trying to get started or maybe you're stuck and need inspiration. Find an existing tune you really like, then create an entirely new melody that fits against it's accompaniment. Then create a new accompaniment for your original melody. VOILA! You have a new tune, inspired by the soul of something existing!

Tyler Mac let’s go gamecocks
I loved performing that it was fun
Gorgeous. That super wide stance is odd to me. Is there a command to assume this enhanced parade rest? Or is that what parade rest looks like these days?
So cool!
This is a very nice production. As I continue with college and get my degree to being a band director, ill definitely keep you in mind. I love the layout of the music and visual design.
they are quite good. they whooped my school for years. my school only got em once in competition which was my freshman year (2019)
I played this
Hello
I'm seeing a nature show about otters. A coyote prowls 4 minutes in. The trickiest bit was where you have the woodwinds doing a bunch of key-changey stuff, crescendoing to the brass entrance. The kids concentrated their way through the notes; well done. I think that's the most challenging part of the piece.
I like the noodling in the woodwinds!
Where could I find sheet music for this?
Head over to my website! www.RyanJWilliams.net
My left ear really enjoyed this
Do those FOUR euphonium players realize there is only one actual gig out there? Just kidding. There are no euphonium gigs out there.
Finally a mellophone concerto! Bravo!
This was a fantastic performance, of an equally fantastic composition. Congratulations!
I’m surprised to find this
Very nice work, Ryan
What are the little tuned cymbals called? Pretty neato doing them with a bow.
Those are Crotales! They're wonderful :)
That was beautiful. Masks with holes in them has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen though.
That's like... Army Stupid.
Trippy
That was interesting. The cello is gorgeous. The only spots that didn't feel serene were some of the spots where the violins were the only voices, and the lower voice pulled flat. Most of the other weirdnesses were soothing rather than painful. Interestingly, some of those same tensions were less painful when more voices were added.
That slightly out-of-tuneness is part of the piece! It's weird and uncomfortable, but wonderful.
@@WhiteMageMusic Yes, I got that, and heard / felt it. It just wasn't serene. And it was just one or two spots.
It was truly an honor to be in this band. Thank you!
Look at us!
I had so much fun!
Good to see our performance
NICE! That's an impressive little choir that church has!
I wondered if this title was a Hollies reference.
"includes participants from the members of the consortium that commissioned the work." That explains the terrible diction. LOL
That was pretty.
nice video, keep shooting! By the way, to get into the top of RUclips you can’t do without promotion, ypu can try something like Utify.io.. w0
Simply FANTASTIC!!
Dat tuning 🙃
Can someone please tell me why you feel the need to rotate and flip the screen around like 30 times?
Kudos to the composer, performers, and video/sound editor!
Outstanding!
Wonderful, I am so proud of my Granddaughter for being in this, I enjoyed it very much!!!! Thank You.
The Midland University Band is proud to be a part of this. Nicely done everyone. Thank you Ryan!
👏👏👏
Awesome to see how well this came together. Shout out to my gburg people! :)
This was an awesome project!
Thank you for creating this awesome piece of music! I loved working on it!
Great work, Ryan!
Thank you Ryan Williams for such a wonderful piece of music in this time of need! It was such an honor to be part of this project, and I can't wait till we at McNeese collaborate with you again.
BRAVO, friend!
Awesome work. Such a great way to honor the students with a culmination of their work this semester during COVID-19. Kudos to all involved.
This was great fun to be a part of! Thank you!
