A superb layout. I love the Castle and the passenger train. About 20% of my HO layouts rolling stock, locomotives, track, vehicles, buildings, and scenery has seen its 50th birthday, as well as most of my N gauge. (HO, HOn30, N standard, N zoo train/model ride on trains. Same layout. Running HO and N outside in the sun, rain, snow, and especially wind can be fun, and gives the paint jobs a nice patina that makes all the models look very realistic.) Roughly 1/3 of the HO locomotives and 1/2 of the N gauge locomotives that I bought brand new, way back when, before 1980, didn't have what it takes to survive my childhood or being operated outside, or even operated, and were turned into dummies, traded, remotored, or even reframed. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
You are very kind and also absolutely correct in keeping and running your elderly stock. Sometimes, I feel the rush for only brand new, high fidelity, and high tech is overdone. No doubt they have a place, I have some too, but often folk forget that a 50 year old loco was state of the art once, too. Cheers.
Super. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
Many thanks, even if you find them running on the wrong side of the road. Cheers.
My grandson says he'll have moving cars on the railway he builds when he's older 🙂👍
I must admit I really like it! I think this model railway will inspire young people to become interested model railways. The purists might argue it is not accurate. But it is is really good visual entertainment. Well done!
@user-gt9ig6vk1b Thanks, agree. The purists shouldn't run steam engines driven by electricity, but they do. My view is to do what I enjoy and enjoy what I do. That's why I modelled a Heritage Railway, where it's normal to see a wide range of locos and rolling stock on the same day.
Great video, Paul, and rule one is the only rule, isn't it... Cheers James 😁👍
Exactly!
Brilliant Paul, that looks great...cheers James 🙂👍
Thanks, these were usually crashed into oblivion by over enthusiastic use of the hand throttle, so the survivors are becoming rare.
In remarkable condition for its age.
Cheers, Dave. The styrene bodies are quite brittle now, so they need careful handling. The chassis and motors are remarkably robust and run well for 60 year old technology.
Nice video, Paul. Great locos ... cheers James 🙂👍
Used to have great fun with Minic Motorways 60 years ago!
Cool vid
Thank you.
Great video, just enjoyed watching it with my grandson. Cheers James 🙂👍
Many thanks, James.
Lovely looking layout! Found you from the Railway Modellers Club website. Thanks for sharing. Liked and Subbed Cheers, Andy
Many thanks, Andy. It's pretending to be a Heritage Railway, but with an agreement to use the mainline to access the main station. Hence, it is a mix of old and new stock. Rule one definitely applies here. Cheers.
@@Paulboy.W.H.R. Rule one always applies! I have some American rolling stock and locos running around my UK layout!! :) Cheers, Andy
Nice loco Paul, and filmed from some nice angles... Cheers James 🙂👍
Many thanks, James.
Nice layout 👍
I'm glad you like it
Nice work. Aside from bad sound on your video...love the scenery. Bernie NZ
Thanks, Bernie. I'll have to accept your concerns with the audio, as I'm very deaf, so I may choose to only use silent movies in the future. Cheers.
Great scenes & detail!
Cheers, Dave.
Excellent!!!
Many thanks, Mike.
Great video, Paul. I see white van man is still driving around. My grandson has enjoyed watching your video. He really likes your layout. Have you seen his Dylington Model Railway channel? He's been busy over the last few months' filming video for it. If you do decide to have a look, you will see we have turned off the comments for his protection due to his age. However, if you want to comment, can you comment on the Christmas one, or maybe you could do on here. Just mention the name of the video you're commenting on. Anyway, he's subscribed to your channel... cheers James 🙂👍
Many thanks, James, tell him thanks from me to him for subscribing and take a look at my latest video. A cheap non runner upgrade. The Airfix Castle cost a tenner without a DCC chip. Cheers.
@Paulboy.W.H.R. I will tell him tomorrow when I see him next Paul. Have you seen his channel 🙂👍
Hi James, I've had a quick look and really liked the rock festival at the castle. Tell him he has a new subscriber. I will look properly at more of the post when I get time to myself. Cheers.
@Paulboy.W.H.R. Hi Paul, I will tell him you've subscribed. It will make his day as he really likes your layout. I hope you enjoy his videos. Let me know what you think... Cheers James 🙂👍
Thanks
Hi. Which sound profile is best for this ?
I used Hornby Triplex P2.
What an amazing layout! Full of detail and so well done. Great work! 👍 Happy Modelling Mon
Thanks, that's very kind. Merry Christmas.
Subscribed. Great layout 👍🏻
Awesome, thank you!
Very well detailed layout here, ive subbed👍👌
Thanks for the sub!
Very welcome @@Paulboy.W.H.R. 👍👍
Wow....this has everything with split levels, backdrops, town and industry and realistic running....one of the best.
Many thanks, David.
Nice video 👍
Thanks 👍

Shows the amazing amount of detail that has gone into the layout nicely 👍
That’s brilliant view brilliant camera well done 👍
Wow!!! What a superb layout. There's a bit of everything there. Congratulations.
Love a cleaning hack Dad !!!!
Just got your link from SMS club, nice layout new sub from me
Nice running session, good job there was no damage
Wow that was a bargain
A real bargain
It certainly stays on, even at Scalextric speeds! It corners like it's on rails, as car people like to say 😉
Nice job did you glue nem pockets into place?
No NEM on these as they're designed specifically to fit over The original Hornby mounting posts. I did use some square extrusion to match the post height further back on the modified ends.
new sub from me my friend
