Hiking through woodland, finding caves and an abandoned Campsite !

Another attempt to find a tunnel underground. Just Charlie and I today. This woodland was full of cool mysterious things. We found a small cave. Then a very weird cage. No idea what it was for. It was full of smelly mud. We threw a stick in it. After a

Completely different change of pace. Relaxing afternoon at the Valley. Summer holidays has been brilliant but expensive. So it's nice to take it back to basics. I have brought two bits of wood to hopefully make a shelf or two. I have had some ideas. Let's see if they work. #survival #bushcraft #shelter #camping #wildcamping

Today hike was a total chancer. But it totally paid off. We found a couple holes in the ground. The cave was brilliant but the fact we found thousands of gas masks and glass from the second world war. This stuff isn't safe. #warzone #ww2 #gas #hiking #caves #landfill

Hardly a cave, the blue minerals coming out of the rock show it's an abandoned copper mine.
Great video
Was fun today. It gave me a chance to check how waterproof it was as it rained all day.
Nice loving it keep it up man❤
Over 4 years doing this place and I don't see any finish in site. Had the fire ripping aswell today. Cooked some oak smoked sausages today !
You've got something special there, so wish I had this relationship with my father and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that. Lovely too see 🙂
I really appreciate that Richard. I was lucky my dad did this with me and my little bro back in the day. Life is short and we like to enjoy it as much as we can , while we can. No time like the present. Sucks to hear about your father. We're not all made to be dads. It's hard selfless work. But we love it
Always love your camera work & good luck Charlie at secondary school!
Thanks! You too!
Just love to see you out there roaming around and having such a great time. So many more kids should experience that. Thanks again for sharing :)
Thank you for the comment..this place is radical. Didn't expect any of that. Why would Google hide this area. Usually it's government stuff like area 59
Awesome find 😊 They dont have the same quality anymore just look at how thick the glass is. Cheers much love from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you for the comment. The bottles had really old dates. Would have been nice to try the coffee stuff. Have you ever been to England?
HDT, the makers of those tents - specialist military suppliers. No big fences or activity perhaps Territorial Army camps.
It's the second one in two missions. I agree with you. Not a wedding venue that's forsure . Thanks again for the comment
The bottle is inscribed with the words “Glasgow”, “Paterson’s” and “Camp Coffee & Chicory”. It contained a coffee and chicory syrup that was the first form of instant coffee. Camp coffee became ubiquitous within the British Empire both as a popular drink and baking ingredient. Created in 1876 to accompany the Gordon Highlanders (a British army infantry regiment) on their campaign to India, it allowed them to satisfy their coffee cravings while on the road or camping out. Reflecting this history, the original label showed a kilted soldier enjoying a cup of coffee served to him by a Sikh servant.
More often than not, there is a tell somewhere in your episodes as to where you are. There is on this one too, but I don’t recognise that stately pile. Very interesting campsite find - that’s some set up, looks like it’s recently been used too.
Yes sir. It isn't far from Plymouth. Near the river Erme. Would you believe in the next episode we found another Camp site like this one. Can't believe our luck. Plus some elses treehouse den.
@@3kingsadventures Yup, I see it now. I’ve not explored round there at all. Looking on my OS map, I can’t see any outline of the mud pool. Lots of woods and trails, not for the first time, might take the dog that way and follow in your footsteps .. (we were at the chimney above Gunni the other day)
It is so cool to see those 2 lads out and about doing proper adventure and explore. Good on you and thanks for sharing :)
We enjoy watching you and your son aswell. Learning and exploring. Have you ever found a dump area with ww2 stuff. I can't believe it. Wow. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
@@3kingsadventures Yes we have many times. You should get a metal detector for the boys to start exploring in even a more exciting way :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter I love that idea. I know the boys would like that. I was concerned about asbestos in the rubbish. The canisters from the masks can be contaminated.
Where did you learn the bushcraft?
Turns out I was doing bushcraft with my dad and brother when we were kids. But it's wasn't called bushcraft. It was just life. We just made stuff and did stuff. It's more about solving problems with what you have really. Never read a book or went to a course about bushcraft ever.
@@3kingsadventures Cement is actually an ingredient of concrete, concrete is sand and gravel and cement. Cement is used for smaller jobs, Concrete for bigger ones.. good question though (I googled it lol)
👍
Cool right. Totally unexpected. Shame they didn't fully cover them.
@@3kingsadventures Yes
Very interesting how they are so well blocked up, presumably to stop squatters
Probably. Shame. Really want to know what's inside
Cheers for shout out. Had a feeling it would choke because the nearest shaft looked filled
On Google maps there is a trout farm and house right in the middle of the quarry site and one up around the back of the quarry thay one is good to look at
I think I know which one you mean. Is it actually abandoned ? We have walked around there once or twice but not towards the house. I know the game keeper for that area. He never mentioned it
They've turned the alarms off in the bottem property? Very cool. I belive the reason they are empty is people where moved of the area due to the Hemerdon mine reopening and the land becoming unstable. Great video 👌
Thanks for the comment. Super cool place. The next videos are underground. The second one is in the same area as this. We found ww2 items and a cave 😀
Eye pieces I'd guess
From a leather gas mask ? Plymouth has a huge history. I can imagine after the war they needed to clear them away. Landfill was popular.
Glasses for the masks those cans can have asbestos
Get out of there now
There's bin lots of earthquakes in California lately you don't want to chance being in a cave if you have a little earth movement be careful
Crumbling granite,good for Radon
Cool video
All you need is a giant taridactal or an old mystic fire breathing dragon it's a creepy place
Cant beat history and family time. All about making memories
Old history
Another total surprise while out hiking
I'm reminded about the old tunnels under new York city
It's very loose. Scary place
You should crack that open, there are cases of them containing 500k+ year old water!😮
Could it be indents for pointy out bits to fit on to. Almost like lego. Similar to techniques used at stone henge to built stuff. ?
@@3kingsadventures Yea! Isn’t it amazing how old stuff can be sometimes? 😁
My first thought was pounding laundry but that's based on absolutely nothing
I have seen stuff like there in the middle of villages where people would grind seeds etc. Over time a small indent would be created. Almost imaging a couple people sat around grinding stuff
They are naturally formed by the river (maybe not the square one!!!!). Go into the Yorkshire Dales and find any limestone outcrop. You’ll see these on the tops of hills, next to rivers (eg the strid), in caves etc etc
This is granite. I think it's super amazing. There is nothing else around. It's hard to get to.
Down there was actually the den of underneath the sea so more than 2 million years ago 2 million years ago you would be underneath in the middle of the sea
I think these are joghan There is a treasure just few metres around and in one metre deep should be under small cliff at front .
there's a gold in the river and that rock is where they grind the ores of gold, that's what we do before
There was definitely silver. Think they would keep gold a secret. Should I start panning ? Lol
The rocks look green there might be copper mining you should get a metal detector look up river where it bends you mite find silver maby copper green stones would be copper look around for a fire pit or stone oven to heat iron pots you might have found a mining camp look around the river with a metal detector if I'm right there should be a furnace to heat ore found I think you found a forge for valuable metals or a canon ball forge maby you need a mental detector poke around you have a mystery make plaster casting of those @@3kingsadventures
I know many do not want to mention the exact location, and that's fine, but could you give us a general idea of where these are, as that might shed additional clues on their use?
Devon. UK. On the Moors. Along the River Meavy. To find it would be hard even from that but that should help with ideas. There is mining stuff here from the 1840s. But did they hand grind stuff like that. ?
They look like forms possible for gold or silver ingets you might have found an old gold or silver mine
That's brilliant
It's almost lunch time I'm going down town meatloaf today it's Thursday
You should look into gull Dartmouth drysuits you want to explore warm and dry adult and children sizes available

You should give magnet fishing a try you might find old stuff

You should give magnet fishing a try you might find old stuff
We haven't done that yet. We do find artifacts thoughb
Is this a WW2 bunker maybe
It's a canal tunnel for moving mining material from one place to another
A fun place
Gotta try when you live on the beach

It's super old. Usually very full of water
