Hi, my name is Samuel, I'm located in Berlin, Germany. I'm currently pursuing a career as a cinematographer. Self assignment work in the UK | Leica M6
I went on a short trip to the UK to visit my family. While I was there I also shot only 1 roll, but made it my mission to add more work to my UK self assignment project. This project is a self assigned documentary project where I shoot things in the UK that I as a former resident see as traditionally British.

Zeiss super speed + Ultra 16 lens test | Arri Sr3 250d

This is raw footage I shot to test and compare my Zeiss Super Speed S16's to an Arri Zeiss Ultra 16 12mm. The footage was shot on the Arri SR3 advanced on kodak 7207. Scanned on Blackmagic Cintel scanner with no post stabilisation or colour corrections. The 12mm lens is the Ultra 16 lens, the 16mm and 25mm lenses are my Super Speed lenses. samuelpreston.de sam.prstn

Lebe jetzt seit 10 Jahren in Neuseeland. Hertha Fan seit ueber 30 Jahren. Egal welche Uhrzeit ich schaue die Spiele aber das ist ja nicht alles. Ich mag die Geschichten drumherum. So wie Deine. Danke dafuer. Meine Freundin fragte mich letztens, was ich unbedingt noch einmal tun moechte. Meine Antwort: 'ne Stadionwurst im Olympiastadion und "Nur nach Hause".
Sent in mine for a repair and then had to send in film for the final results . Im happy to report that it takes beautiful pictures. Love it

no I don’t, I did learn some stuff there when I went there with my camera though.
@@samprstn if you dont mind me asking, how did you manage to get your hands on a SR3hs? From what I know, there aren't many owner operators out there.
Beautiful cars! I wanna see your shots! I am so jealous though. I have subscribed in hopes of living vicariously through you as you shoot your leica because I'll probably never be able to own one. BTW, please don't be upset if you scroll upon my video making fun of leica owners. It was all a joke for internet attention. I don't want to get cancelled by the film community before I get a reel following.
Great video - I think this is the best video for showcasing what the G1 is capable of - you really nailed some great shots. Most reviews of the G1 go over the specs but it's obvious that the reviewer has no idea how to use a camera. You obviously understand how to frame and how to use light to create great images. Thanks so much for making this video. You also now have a new subscriber.

The 12mm lens is the Ultra 16 lens, the 16mm and 25mm lenses are my Super Speed lenses.

Hey ! interesting video, thanks for this. It's not easy to find information about servicing this camera on the web... (the arm of the film counter roller of my mag is not smooth, so it stays regularly stuck at 60meters, particularly when it's cold, any idea to fix this ? )
Thanks, yes there is very little out there sadly, your issue is probably something to do with the actual counter mechanism attached to the arm, which is further inside the mag than I have been. I have some guesses but no concrete ideas.

Really nice video. There is no much content on shooting 16mm on youtube so I apreciatte your content. Btw I would like to hear about what is the workflow on set. Especially cleaning the gate, loading the film etc. It would also be amazing to know about your lighting technics for 16mm. Keep up with the good job!

This ‘sedan’ ROCKED corvettes and Camaros and mustangs back in the day at Trans Am. So much so that they put restrictions on the tires, weight, and boost and then eventually banned them from competition bc they kept winning.
I’ve still got two Autocords along with a Rolleicord and Rolleiflex, not used any for some years now . I had the Pentax 645 many years ago with meter head and a selection of lenses, it was good but I preferred the simple square format of the older Minolta and Rollei products. They are also easy to use unobtrusively. I still crop images to rectangular shapes from square. The Autocords have sharper lenses and ideal for detail, whilst the Rolleicord was better for portraits and work well with the shallow depth of field possible with medium format. Great to see a younger person experimenting with older cameras, hope you continue to enjoy it.

Love some info on settings you use on the G1 and any focusing tips!
sure, always around 1 stop over exposed using exposure compensation. Focusing is done via AF so I find a point I want to focus on and then recompose. The af is slow and sometimes needs a couple of tries. I shoot in aperture priority with the lens mostly set at around f4 or f5.6

Wonderful! Did you have a good experience using a Hasselblad? And do you think it holds up against the other medium format film cameras?
It was a good experience for sure, the camera is comparatively small and light compared to other medium format slrs (rb/rz67, pentax 67) and ive become a huge fan of the 6x6 format. The glass is superb too of course!
Also keep in mind film reciprocity failure when shooting in low light
Yes I mentioned this when talking about the exposures longer than 2 seconds 👍🏻

@@samprstn wow that camera is very expensive what would be a cheap option but still have te same vintage look ?
any film camera with a 35mm lens will give you the same field of view and similar look. I was using the film stock called cinestill 400d here if you want to replicate.
