They look a lot like fisher towers outside of Moab too. I was pleasantly surprised to find this type of structure in a couple of more spots around Colorado as well

THANKS! it depends, i have a 6000 mah lipo hrb, an 8k lipo, a 8k lithium ion, and some qsl 4400 mah. i have to be honest, the 7 inch chimera 7 is a workhorse that will work great for long range, and some mild freestyle combination flying. i have probably flown my cheap 7 inch that i built more than any other drone i use, it was my favorite one for a long time. it can't fit very big batteries on it, so that is where the chimera 7 shines. i think i built mine for around 500 or so, but you can get a bind and fly for around 850 i think. but building drones is a. blast. i think my next build will be a heavy duty cinelifter capable of comfortably carrying a komodo (when i can afford one). this sport is so much fun. there were alot of steep learning curves and painful lessons when mountain surfing and long range. my personal opinion is don't fly much further than 7 miles round trip with a drone. if longer flights are needed, maybe a plane would be a more efficient option. i tend to get myself into more issues when i push it. i know it can do farther, but then you need to start worrying about dual diversity receivers, and better antennas for your goggles.

@@mountainmayhemFPV awesome thanks for the advice! Yeah I don't plan on going to far out. I've looked at the chimera 7 and the geprc moz7 which both look pretty sweet! Chances are I will build it my self. That is half the fun!

@@Sonic_Ox thank you! I didn’t realize how lucky I was living here with all of the diversified terrain and cool places to shoot everywhere. This is such a rewarding hobby, it helps me to get out of my head and just focusing on having fun in the moment.

That's exactly how I feel too. It's therapeutic for me. It requires concentration. I can't think about other things and fly properly at the same time. It becomes zen-like 😆. The feelings of freedom and joy that FPV brings are difficult to describe. Thanks for sharing your journey. 🙏 🫡 🍻

@@BigKahunaFPV I would be interested in how it compares to the chimera, but I have a 7 inch that I built, it should be comparable, I like the helion better. Smoother, more power, but not as nimble. Two different applications. Thanks for commenting!

Luckily it was pretty open, if you drive up the road by the ski resort, there’s a dirt road by a ski lift, I don’t look, but it was probably 2-3 miles. I dropped to 30 on the dji 03 unit, but the dual diversity elrs was perfect the whole time. I am putting on the new Gemini transmitter next week, I have hear amazing things about it. 2 separate 1 watt feeds, with the dual diversity elrs, I have heard you can do 50 miles with a fixed wing, which is nuts to me.
