Out of curiosity, what size mcb or rcbo did you put in?
it would have been a 20 A RCBO as a radial circuit.
@@andrewkirk5252 A 40amp sauna would need a fuse slightly bigger, else it would trip all the time. Or was you trying to say that you put a 40 amp fuse going into the sub building from the house, and then put a sauna in that pulls slightly less than 20 amps? That would make sense
I notice you dont earth the back box - is this not necessary?
You don’t have to if one the lugs is fixed.
40 amps for a sauna, jeez thats one humungous sauna, fantastic explanation tho.
🎉ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL🎉.
Are you from Newcastle?
No, why’s that?
@@akelectrics9054 just because your speech is almost the same as a colleague of mine’s (an electrical guy himself yet working in a Datacenter) originally from Newcastle… forgive my ear I am not british
I tried to fit a double socket with one wire (brown, blue and yellow), but tester showing earth is missing when I test it! help please
If you are sure you have connected all conductors properly at the socket with sound contact to terminals. It may be the earth has fallen out or apart at another socket or no actual earth - Meaning although there are earth conductors they may not be an earth supplied to the building. The only real way to verify is to get a earth loop impedance tester, test other sockets first, other circuits and then if still no earth, the main incoming supply.
For the first thanks for some giving me tips another next the electricity ⚡️ is off or on when you work in wire ??🤔
Twisting eaths, makes testing a pain in the arse and putting stress on the copper. Yeeeeehaaaaaaa
Not if you lightly twist them and it always keeps the ring main intact.
@@akelectrics9054 shit practace mate, makes testing a pain aswell
Another dumbass fool who twists the earth conductors together, that is not good practice, it also increases the resistance of the earth conductors. Not a good demonstration.
Do you need to earth metal back box???
Only if both the lugs are adjustable or you have a conduit system supplying the earth.
@@akelectrics9054 Cool thank you very much for replying
Sorry very late reply. Only if both lugs are adjustable. Never hurts to do but just more work.
This is priceless, if only you could narrate my favourite bedtime stories. 🛌
😂
🤣😂
Very nice clean job. This is how I did mine ruclips.net/video/t0pGfExs7lM/видео.html what do you think ?
Thanks, your way is good as well, I like the way there are no breaks in the phase conductors. Not sure if you did but I wouldn't twist earths together at the feed in and out for testing ring main reasons. When we see earths twisted that tightly we don't test in case they break and this can lead to a unsatisfactory result.
@@andykirk5624 I did twist them :( I have one more to make the same as but I won’t twist them ;)
Could u do a video on lights ie fitting switches and standard pendent fitting
Great content clear simple and easily understandable 👍
Clear easy to understand great video
Nice clear instructions great vid
Thanks a lot, great video, really clear and simple.
So simple thank you
Absolutely impressive I wish you lived near Cheltenham you are a real craftsman thanks.
Many thanks hope the video helped
I’ve decided to chase all my walls out for my electrical contractor to run wires etc when the lockdown is over. I’ve chased up to one 25mm knock out with a view to running both cables through one grommet. Presumably this is fine then? As it looks similar on your example. Nervous as I’ve done 20 of them that way, and wondered why some do wider chases and use two knockouts vs one. Thanks for the video
That's fine and slightly less work!
Great video, helped solve my problem thanks
Any chance I can swap my rcd or mcbs for some cbd ??
you may be getting mixed up with AFDD's and SPD's and both normally have to be used in conjunction
Lol
Looks amazing. Can’t wait to see it finished.
Great video. Very informative. Thank you.
Very helpful keep it up🤗
Great video🙌 keep it up
