Cant believe I finally found this! Ive heard this was on you tube but could never find it. I worked with Greg in his second run at sod farming, with my father. I miss that guy, and all that open land, which is now mostly developed. We still grow sod tho!
Tom Romanski hi Tom! Glad you found this. I worked for 3 summers on the sod farm. Finally brought my camera to work on a slow day in September. It was film back then, so I only shot one reel. Glad you enjoyed it. Loved all the Kowalskis, they were awesome people.

Hi Jessica! So glad you enjoyed the footage. We did have tons of fun! Of course, your dad and Greg worked our butts off ;) but all the good times made up for the hard work! I seem to remember your parents having twins - I'm assuming you're one of them? It was so long ago. I remember my sister Barbara saying she knew Jody and your mom in high school, when Burr's Lane was THE only high school in the district. Anyway, Jody was a great guy, and fun to work with. We were just the crazy college students, and they used to always poke fun at us - "Huh - College Students! You can't even stack sod straight!" Pretty funny. How is your mom, Uncle Ray, Aunt Donna doing? Tell them all hello for me, and give your mom a hug. I was really sad to hear that Jody and Greg had passed away. I've heard from Terry too, good to reconnect after so long. You have an incredible family!
Thank you for your kind words and wonderful memories. Greg love farming and I know he still riding around on a John Deere . Pumpkin was the name his grand daughters called him.who he adored ..he was a M & M for sure...hard on the out side and soft on inside. Just to let you know he had started his own sod business in Baiting Hollow...being on a sod farm was Greg! Thanks again for the movies...love the two way large radios..the Motorals,! Bitter Sweet memories. Thanks Terry🌻

Hi Terry - So glad you enjoyed seeing this footage. Hard to believe it was 37 years ago! I only heard recently of Greg's passing, and was very sad to hear the news. We all had a great time working with him. Even when he worked our butts off! ;) He was a great guy with a great sense of humor. Love and best wishes to you and your family. -Pete

Hi MK22! I worked several summers in a row with your dad (Greg? Jody?) back in the 70's, when I shot this footage. Unfortunately, that's all I have. Wish I had taken more, but super 8 film was all there was at the time, before video cameras. I have great memories from my summers working there. Tony Gentile and Nick Rakovic are the two other summer hires in the film, we were all students on summer break. Glad you enjoyed it. -Peter Zifchak
