Please, accept my invitation to search RUclips with a keyword of "trái vả mật" to explore the Vietnamese variety of Fig family. "trái" means fruit. "vả" means fig. The word "mật" refers to nectar, juice, jelly, honey and the likes.

I know raccoons hate Epson salt. Maybe you could try sprinkling some of that around the base of your trees. Also, there is a light you can buy to deter them. I’ll post the link below.

I have Vasilika Sika Vs, White Madeira #1, and JH Adriatic. I can’t tell much difference between the three. They are all great growers and very productive. Thank you for the video.

Mine were delicious this year. One year they were awful 😣 I think they hate being over watered & it was a wet year

THIS WEATHER!! It’s killing me. Advise would be take most of the leaves off. I brought a few of mine in the garage for tonigHt. But they will go back outside after this cold Friday night. Your Madeira tree is loaded!!!!!! I’d put them back outside this weekend in full sun. You can make fig jam out of green figs for the leftover. Some have tried olive oil on the figs. But I have never done it.

My Chicago Hardy were small the first few years as well. This year, they are huge. I look forward to trying that Green Bosnian next year. Looks so yummy

I got 2 Olympian figs out of a catalogue for $14.99. The first one in June. 5 nice branches. Went from 5” to 2’ plus. The other one came dried up during a heat wave in July. It’s now 2’ plus and has 4 figs on it. I’m an hour north of the Illinois border in Wisconsin.

Was it 98 grams with the lighter on the scale or did you zero it out & I missed it? Looked good. Need to say the name with a little Italian flare. I-reed-ah…. 😉. When you say fig taste is that like a honey taste? We had 2 1/2” of rain up here in those 2 days of rain. Great for developing the young figs but not for those ripening. Guess more rain coming late Sunday into Monday.

I think it’s fertilizing with high nitrogen because your trees look beautiful and healthy. When given high nitrogen the tree with grow beautiful foliage and could delay fruiting.

I-258 have a berry flavor? Green Bosnian is so good. I’m still….waiting on my breba. Some of mine feel off as well. But there are still some.

Curious if the main crop will taste a lot different.

It might be a combination of weather, tree cycle, & type of tree that is affected by weather? You could pitch the tops off the tree & see if it will send energy to the figs?? The Chicago Hardy is a good tree to evaluate the other trees by. If they are the size of a CH in your other verities. You will probably have those figs this year. Now that I have my garden all squared away. I hope to concentrate on my trees. They need a good root pruning & some up potting. I’ll be up potting a few tomorrow & taking an inventory.
