First off, map awareness is key. Next is deciding if it's safe to fight. Third, secure neutral objectives, like turtles, unless it's too dangerous to secure. In this case, steal enemy jg if there's any.

@Moonlight33-3 ixia is a great mm. She can out sustain most mm early so you can be aggressive. Also, if you can get a good ixia ult, she can turn the game around quite fast. It's one of the best mm, in my opinion. Layla isn't too popular but if she can get farmed she can do well late game. These are just recommendations, but it just relies on the player, so if you trust your own skills at a mm, just play it.
