I really can't emphasize enough how unique carbon is in its ability to form bonds. We don't know of any other element, known or theoretical, that would meet those requirements.

@@tomweather8887 I agree it is unique but in another galaxy made of heavier denser elements there could be isotopes of even tritium naturally forming all over the place and when basic hydrogen starts at a different isotope who knows what could come out of that.
