Dredging a Pond with a Cat 315 F
We are super excited to release this video and get your opinion on the different style of video this time around. This pond is littered with Lillies during the warmer months of the year, dredging it seemed to be the only option to take control of the pond. We removed roughly 1' of silt from the entire pond, which accounted for over 700 cubic yards of material removed from this pond.
We utilized a cat 315F and paired it with a john deere 5075e tractor with our new dump trailer setup. This setup seems to be perfect for maneuvering across skinny dams without destroying the area.

Hooking our Dump Trailer to our Tractors Remote
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.4 года назад
Finally we can say good bye to the battery dying on this dump trailer when its hooked up to the tractor. We've always wanted to somehow hook up the hydraulic of this dump trailer up to the tractor, but always thought it was going to be much harder than this. Time will tell how well this setup will actually work, but for the time being, we're extremely happy that we now have a haul truck for tra...
Playing in the Mud with a Bobcat E42 R2
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.4 года назад
This was a very fun afternoon project. It's nice to get back into the field and in the projects we do every day. This is the first faze of a large pond project we are working on. In this first faze, we are trying to dry out this cat tail area so we can build a catch pond in its place. Routing the creek away from this area should help it dry out. The homeowners will be burning this area next to ...
Building our Mini Office Part 2

Просмотров 16 тыс.4 года назад
Well we finally bought of first excavator. Its a brand new bobcat E42. In this video we basically go over the excavators features and some pros and cons about the unit. In a future video we will be going over the operations of the machine and how the performance is.
Building our Mini Office Part 1

Its been a while but this is what we've been up to. Not to mention the front drive shaft on the 2500 snapped and tore up everything under the truck so it was down for a month as well. This little office will serve as our main office for the next 5 or so years or until we purchase land and build a large shop/office.
Ripping out Trees with a Cat 315

This was a very fun project, much like all of them. This Cat 315 was absolutely perfect for this job. Foley Equipment came through and delivered this equipment with a thumb in under a days notice. Next up is piling all these trees in a burn pile.
Fixing Overheating Issues on our 3rd Gen Cummins
Просмотров 19 тыс.4 года назад
We have always had overheating problems with this truck, especially with the transmission. When the transmission overheats, it send the rest of the system into a spiraling overheating mess. In todays video we're trying to fix this by installing two 12 volt fans on the front of the truck and replacing the stock grill with a grill with much less resistance. After it was all said and done, it turn...
Installing a Limestone Retaining Wall
Просмотров 5 тыс.4 года назад
This was a pretty fun but extremely hot wall build. There was a total of around 50 linear foot of wall installed using a tumbled limestone 5x8 block in the flint hills grey color and we think it turned out great! Using the bobcat to transport the pallets around was a necessity as well was the excavator for digging the trenches.
Crowning a Gravel Driveway & Routing Drain Pipe
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.4 года назад
Today we routed the outlet of a sump pump roughly 200' away from the house. The homeowners were constantly getting stuck in their pasture due to the outlet being right next to the gate. Also we went over to a driveway that was in terrible shape completely re graded the driveway. This was the only way to get the water off the driveway without binging in a couple hundred tons of rock to raise the...
Finishing up the Pond Project & Hauling off Trees

This week we jumped around a few projects. Warren finished up the pond dredging/culvert replacement job and I hauled off a few dump trailer loads of trees. On Friday I went out and resurfaced a driveway. It was definitely a productive week.
Replacing a Pond Overflow Pipe with Cat 308
Просмотров 9 тыс.4 года назад
This weeks video was definitely an adventure. We cut our first gas line too which was definitely an experience but I suppose it was just bad luck. Anyhow, this was 60' of culvert pipe we replaced. The old culvert lasted around 50 years which is about average, we are hoping this HDPE culvert will last a lot longer! The Cat 308 definitely pulled its weight with that 3' bucket. Next week we will b...
Replacing a clogged culvert with Kubota U 35 Mini Excavator
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.4 года назад
Today we spent the morning replacing an old culvert under this clients driveway using a Kubota U-35.. The client has two entrances to this driveway, and this entrance is used for her side business. When it snows, she constantly had her customers backing off the driveway and into the ditch. We decided to install around 25' of culvert and widen the driveway out. Warren worked on the driveway in t...
Building Pad Timelapse with Cat 953B
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.4 года назад
This weeks video was pretty fun to make. We took on what was supposed to be a 3 day building pad project which turned into a 4 day building pad project using this Cat 953b. It was a little undersized for this project, I really think that having an excavator loading a haul truck and a dozer and compactor leveling out the pad would have been ideal for this project but thats a conversation for ano...
Fabricating a Box Blade Attachment for the Bobcat T650
Просмотров 18 тыс.4 года назад
Todays video is a little difference because were making an attachment for the box blade. I love fabricating new thing and creating stuff from essentially nothing. We used a 1/2" steel plate to make the bob tac brackets, 2x4 square tubing to make the supports for the box blade and then a few other miscellaneous things. This setup will allow us to get an exact reading off the bottom of the blade ...

Dude, why wouldn’t you check to see if your cooling system is working properly before hacking on two cheap, electric fans?? How’s your thermostat? FAN CLUTCH? Clean radiator? Did you add a bunch of horse power? Putting on those electric fans is unnecessary if your cooling system is working properly.

this is an issue with the ecm not reading a temp somewhere in the system. a faulty cooling system,or the cummins is overbilt for cooling capacity and making too much heat.. two dinky fans will help not much at all. the cummins fan is more than adequate to cool this engine , if it is told what to do and the radiator is full and clean. most often the trans cooler leaks, plugs radiator owner cusses and trys to cut corner his way out of it

I love the set up as I have also noticed the battery in the dump trailer setups has a very limited number of dumps per day in it even with a full charge. Since you move this with your tractor loaded with heavy material I am wondering if you have any issues with pulling capacity and speed (can you travel at 10-12 mph and what horsepower is your tractor? Thanks

    • @ryan_lexi
      @ryan_lexi 2 года назад

We can easily pull this at 10-15 mph. As long as it’s a smooth haul road so we don’t bend an axle. The tractor is 75hp. Only issues we ever run into is traction. Power is no problem.

It’s hilarious that the “GoPro stop recording” over and over didn’t get edited out lol. I’m with whoever said just press the stop button lol. Btw, you’ll probably want to put a culvert pipe in that creek then put dirt over it. Otherwise it’s gonna either wash or beavers will make a dam on it and flood your land.

  • @livewithnick
    @livewithnick 2 года назад

Your tractor is big enough. That’s pretty thick brush. I may be wrong but it didn’t sound like your rpm’s were high enough. Also, hydrostatic transmissions take more pto power away than gear drive tractors.
