On the Grid is a new take on survival games. Instead of taking place on a deserted island or a post-apocalyptic world, this game takes place in an endless city, in a sort of "Purge" like world.
You're broke, and everyone wants you dead for it. Civilians and cops attack you. Your only option is to take what you need and build a new home. Survive as long as you can as the city doesn't take kindly to those trying to live off the grid...

unique survival game demo unreal engine - devlog 2

I can no longer say I'm remaking Rust. After this past week we have a pretty far departure of what my original intention with the game project is, but honestly I am pretty excited for that. I think this is already starting to shape up into a unique game experience. If you see this, please let me know what you think! And share it with your friends. I need more attention on this I'm working too h...
I am no longer remaking Rust - devlog 1

So, I think I'm going to go in a different direction than originally planned. This low poly look is really doing it for me. I'm thinking more city tiles, less wilderness ones, and make it hard to find a place to chill and build. The city is full of zombie people, some cops and some crazy kids. Gather supplies and get your base built to survive as long as you can... Until I think of a way to end...
Time Powers Puzzle Game (Prototype) in Unreal Engine 5
Просмотров 362 месяца назад
Another game project! I did some spring cleaning last weekend in Unreal and upgraded all of my functional projects to the latest 5.4. While doing so, I thought it might be fun to record and show off some of the better projects I have waiting around. This one is a game where I think you'd play as a "Time Detective" solving a crime by solving puzzle challenges and advancing to the next room. Each...
Remaking Rust in Unreal Engine 5 - devlog 0

This isn't one of those clickbait videos where I remake the game in 24 hours or a week or whatever so I'm sorry to disappoint if that's what you're looking for. This is a project I made because at some point I realized I had 1,000 hours in Rust and I wondered to myself... What would a Rust clone look like if I spent 1,000 hours working on it? Probably pretty good! I don't plan to make it multip...
Lyra: Add a Custom Map - Unreal Engine 5 game dev log #2

Adding a level I got from Unreal Marketplace called "Multistory Dungeons" to the Lyra template. I am also going to add this custom level to the main menu so we can access it directly whenever we are playing. Starting a new devlog series as I try to figure out what my next game will be. I don’t know if it will end up using this project but I feel like this is a good excuse to keep me actively developing something. There’s about 80 tutorials or more that I’m going to be following as I do this series. Hoping to make a video per week! Today's Tutorials: @SmartPoly ruclips.net/video/slh3emguPU0/видео.ht...
Fixing My Indie Game! (Timelapse)

This is a few hours of work on my first game "The Monster War" I recorded over the weekend. It's playing at 5x speed so if you want to watch this in real time, you will have to slow it way down! Play It Free On Steam Now! I came into this day with a plan but I deviated shortly after figuring out that teleporter mechanic sent me outside of the designated map. Then I found it interesting enough t...
Steam Said My Game Is Bad... Let's Take A Look!
Просмотров 154 месяца назад
My opinion, no it's not a bad game! It was a passion project and my first real creation. I'm proud of it! Honestly, I was a bit surprised to find ANY reviews on my game considering I hardly promoted it. Random Steam gamers looking through the free bin I guess. I appreciate the feedback nonetheless! So I want to acknowledge those issues with my game "The Monster War" and discussing some of the r...

CSGO Dust 2 in Unreal Engine 5 (progress update)
Просмотров 225Год назад
This won't be my first game, just a side project I wanted to share some updates on. I've been rebuilding CSGO Dust 2 in any spare time that I have (not a lot!) as I find it relaxing and a good learning exercise. Probably will never be used for anything but it's been pretty fun to play around with so far! Some day in the future I would like to remake some maps from Halo, CoD and Dark Souls origi...

Okay you know what. Maybe I'm a lil stoned but I like the way it looks. It's got silly "Not taking myself too seriously" vibes for me. That you're embracing a bit of jank physics and movement that have specific nostalgic hints for certain gamers. I think you've got some good stuff shown off and if it's stable, smooth, and the right amount of fun it'll be a W for you.

I really appreciate this!! I think you get exactly what I am going for. It's still very early on in development, so I hope you stay tuned for more :)

You should learn to combine the shapes into one mesh dropable block so its easier to build levels :) will speed up ur map building capability by like 8x

Thank you for the feedback! Can I ask what you mean exactly by creating them into one mesh droppable block? Just having more prebuilt assets like stairs and ramps?

    • @welshe222
      @welshe222 Год назад

@@thecreativemediastudio Well if for example you make a stairs out of blocks and then add some sort of hand-rail you can combine them all into one placable asset which makes it easier to build maps since you make a foundation, wall, doorway, stairs, and essentially you can just custom make hundreds of houses by using those blocks by adjusting the scale of them only, but it becomes more advanced when you build say a house roof that is drag&dropable or some sort of wall/fence etc But yeah the premise is more placable assets the easier it is to build stuff, if you are trying to copy dust 2 then you can build the shapes of the map without building the map then add all the combined stuff together, i wouldnt add textures or colour to the normal grid colour either, build first, skin later :)

@@welshe222 yeah fair enough!! and thanks again :) I definitely agree, that is the better way to typically go about it. Idk why I'm building the project this way tbh lol. I made a few walls and objects, slapped a basic "sand" material on it all and it's been fun mimicking a chunk at a time. For a "real" project I'd go a lot slower and do it properly 😆
