EPISODE 77 - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (w/Uncle Alex!)
Its not Good vs Evil. Its the spirit of humanity and the humility of the love ones family, struggling under the Tyranny of fear and the looming shadow of an unknown but Understood threat.
Perhaps he was drugged or unconscious when they brought him in? Perhaps there was more elaborate constructs in the warehouse which they dismantled already for speed of exfiltration afterwards? Not sure, but hardly a massive gaff which needs calling out.
Either way it's all out of love! It's definitely not a gaffe - part of the fun of MI for us is the random stuff that has no explanation
So who does the conspiracy say won it? Don’t they give the card to the winner?
The rumor was Vanessa Redgrave for Howards End, which was nominated for 9 Oscars total. But there's no way it was real
Lohan is a washed up junkie who needs to go back to working the streets of Dubai to support her habit.
Basically, haters spread lies, and were believed. You can bet those lies screwed up opportunities for her, and trashed her professional reputation.
And we all know George has a thing for her.
What????
That whole controversy is a lie. She deserves to win that year. it was nice to see somebody win for great performance in a comedy.
No love for 3 6 mafia for winning best song with its hard out here for a pimp?
Ahh you're totally right! That's a huge oversight on our part lol. Hustle & Flow was better than we expected in general but that was a great win too
@@babysfirstwatchlist personally I liked whoop that trick way. The scene where that song came together was awesome
@@SmithSens16both are great, as long as they got Juicy J on stage at the Oscars 😂
Crash is wayyyyyyy better than bb. And Lala land is a standalone best picture ever. Yall in the wrong chat.
No issue with La La Land! Just thought Moonlight was better even after a few rewatches of both. Rewatched Crash last year though and nah. It's not one of the worst movies ever like it gets the rep of being, but it's not in the same convo as Brokeback, which is legitimately really good. Just opinions though!
I can’t believe Taxi Driver didn’t get it. 😮
Such a great year of movies!
Broke back mountain GTFOH 😂
I've been in love with her since that flick she was in about the New Yorker kids who buy a run down mountain resort and renovate it, it's from the 80's cuz I first saw it as a kid, in the 80's, and I fell in love with her when she was in a bra and panties, so gorgeous!!!!!
Lady GOAT imo
I agree. Love her.
Leave the woman alone
She won. Period.
Are you sure?
Don’t forget… she almost landed George Costanza
My cousin vinnie was excellent… with her biological clock, and car torque, and the bloody train then owl… girl deserves an Oscar…. Brilliant film, brilliant actress!!!
Of course she did.
It was always a nonsense story. Marisa won because she was PHENOMENAL. Watch the film everyone! It is almost the perfect movie.
Agreed!
there is a conspiracy theory for everything that has more than one person's interest...wew live in bullshit times
Who was supposed to win that year?
Unfortunately we cut that part to slim it down for the clip (it's in the full episode) but I think the favorite was Vanessa Redgrave for Howards End, which was nominated for 9 Oscars including Best Picture
I AGREE WITH HER EXCEPT I WOULD ALSO PUT VALERIE IN THE MIX.I’M NOT A WITCH I’M YOUR WIFE 😂
Carol Kane is so great in that role!!
I don't think Jeff will die since he is just Miles's dad. The Spit maybe after him but the main mission right now is saving Miles Morales. So Gwen Stacy and the band are going to save Miles but I think Peter B might die then have his daughter as the new Gwen but just traumatized. Miles is the main mission and I think him and the band will save his dad but the Spot will still be out
I personally think that Jeff won't die due to the entire movie being about miles trying to save his dad. But since a father figure has to die, I think Peter b might die
Oh I could totally see that!!
Best cliff hanger ending is The Italian Job (1969).
Always nice to see Halloween get some love, even got a second Carpenter film mentioned in The Thing. I really wish Halloween never had a sequel because the ending was so great, still love ALL the sequels regardless.
It's a perfect ending but I also don't blame them for going back to the well for 2. It got absurd as it went, but yeah that ending is awesome
Madame web 🕸 has beed with 2099
Spider Pregnant lady was mid Indian Spiderman was meh Spider Punk was cool but little screen time
Hell nah, first movie supporting cast was way better. Second movie was great but the first was near-perfect.
Fair! I just liked the depth in Across's characters that wasn't quite there in the (more fun) Into side characters!
The 2nd movie is so fucking boring
Yip yap nga you just got bad taste
@@no-Zbeenah it was pretty boring
@@rainkore13but it wasn’t it was just story based instead of action based 😂
Well let's make the list shall we ? Hexxus from Zak and Crysta Pennywise from IT Drake from the peeble and the penguin Mr Hector from Home Alone 2 The Scarlet Fever from Ozzy and Drix The principal character from the Rocky picture horror school Billy Flynn aka the prince of darkness from Criminal minds (probably the role who creep me out the most) The devil from Legends Tim Curry is one of my lifetime idol and a grandfather figure. I wish meet him and becoming his successor
I have to see some of those still! But we love Tim Curry so much!
The Irishman. Where an 2 Italians play Irish people and an English person plays an Italian. You can’t have Bob play a fricken Irish person in this movie especially when a key issue was that his character could never “be made” because he is fucking IRISH. Then you have Graham play Tony Pro?! WTF. Graham should have played Jimmy Hoffa or at least Bob De Niro’s character. De Niro should have been Tony Pro. I get it, it’s a movie. You have 75 year old guys playing “tough guys”. Last point. No chance the Mob killed Kennedy. As Bob’s character claims
It was..... Not a good movie unfortunately. My dad likes to think he's a mob historian and he hates the whole book story to begin with, and he thinks it's all made up. It's probably my least favorite Scorsese
@@babysfirstwatchlist I think it’s possible he killed Hoffa. Makes sense but yeah the movie was decent at best
I was in the cast for the 2007-2008 run in LA. We always had a blast and had many celebs come out to the show. We had ppl calling the police on the show- and the meatball sub portion of the movie was intermission- then during that, they sold meatball subs to the audience.
This is so awesome!! I would have loved to have been able to see it. It sounds so fun. Thanks for sharing!
His full piece, available here, is absolutely worth reading in full: slate.com/culture/2023/10/killers-of-the-flower-moon-movie-osage-martin-scorsese.html
Dennis the Menace was a good movie too
It was slightly before our time so we never ended up seeing it but it looks fun!
Jesus Christ. I was today years old when I learned Luke Skywalker was the Joker.
First seconds hearing… ‘My cocaine…’ 😮
That would've been a different podcast, not about movies we want to show our kid 😳
Change my mind, scooter is the best muppet (yes i know he uses the whole uncle muppet theater thing to get his way... SHUT UP)
Hey listen, no disrespect at all 😂
How funny this is the worst movie ever
harsh!! It's not that bad 😂
The Village!!❤
This man is my favorite actor and I appreciate anytime he gets the love he deserves
Tim Curry is a excellent actor! Loved his sassy attitude in home alone 2!
Tim curry IN SPAAAACE!!!
"What can you tell me about Voodoo?" "Is that clay?!?"
Legend ❤
He was also in the Comand & Conquer game....
oh yeah!! I (Tom) never played it but I remember hearing about it when it came out
"Spaaashe"
the video before this was a reddit reading about a girl telling her bf she cheated on him w a guy. the guy forgiving her then telling her he slept w the same guy. Idk what the algorithm is trying to tell me but I am concerned.
😂 well thanks for stopping by anyway and we hope you can get your algorithm all straightened out
To good to be bad 🤣
Interesting. When I saw the movie, I was under the impression that he never read the book.
In our full episode we talk about a hypothesis we read that in the same way King wrote the book about his alcoholism and writer's block--consciously or not--Kubrick transformed the movie into being about his obsession with perfectionism and its impossibility. And that's why so much of it feels different. I (Tom) found that to be really interesting framing I'll have to look at on my next rewatch.
