How to Throw a Mug on the Potter's Wheel
In this video I show you how I throw a mug on the potter's wheel, the tools I use, and the trimming and finishing process.
I used bmix mid fire stoneware clay with no grog and the final mug is glazed in Amaco Chun Plum.

Thanks! One of the biggest things in carving clay is getting it to a good leather hard stage. If it's too soft it's much harder to control your carving lines. Would love to see what ya make!

Nice. What I've done is set small smooth pebbles in the glaze (I only fire to ^6) for both decoration and to keep the soap in place. Very easy to do and the stones are smooth enough that the dish cleans up with no problem. Been meaning to experiment with different pebble patterns and maybe smooth grained sand with a template.
