"Get some of that M-60! Heh heh heh heh"
Can the process of attaching the package be done by a bot by giving orders? While doing it yourself is cool, I feel strange that you gotta do it while also handling the helicopter while standing in the middle unable to see anything but the ground. In a proper mission, I would rather keep focusing on holding the aircraft steady as someone else does the attachment operation.
You're not really "handling" the aircraft while standing/kneeling at the hole, you CAN, but you'll be a firey mess in short order. You should have Bob engaged, he takes care of the flying. Get as stable as you can, at about 30-40 feet, engage Bob, and the aircraft controls are passed to him. You will then do as you would as a REAL Flight Engineer. Press RCtrl+] until your head is in the hole and pass commands (via your stick and collective) to Bob; "Forward....right...right more...back a little...we're too high, come down a little." In the future, I imagine we'll be able to do this as multi-crew, so you can have a real person tell you the movements you need to make. If you remain in the pilot's seat, select a cargo, and get near it, the Load Master voice will start to guide you to the correct location. You can probably (I haven't tried this from the pilot seat) bring up the Cargo Indicator and help with this, so now you'll have the CM voice AND a visual indicator as well so that you can do what you do in the front seat, and try to achieve what you described. Try everything out, find what works for you and have fun!
Hello how do you release the cargo may i ask
Currently, only by Emergency release. Not sure why the Cargo Release on the cyclic doesn't work. I have the cover and the button mapped, and it doesn't drop the cargo.
To drop the cargo, I've learned since the last comment, you need to select the hook you are slinging with in the pilots seat, on the overhead console, toward the front, ARM the hook, open the cover on the cyclic, and press the cargo release button. If the knob is on the right hook, and the hook is armed, it will release without using the Emergency release switch.
@@4RunAmok appreciate it
I should be getting the control board from Virpil this week. Hopefully I will be able to fly with you guys again. Hey, was that Grumpy I heard?
Yeah, this was on one of the One Actual servers
😂
😮 👍 Cool the Trap Door is working in early Access
@@robihobby9490 I was surprised too!
@@4RunAmok Ok, I opened the trap door, but how do I open the yellow hatch to release the hook. 🤔
You have to open the Comms menu, select ALL CARGOS, choose one from the list, and it will smoke red, as shown in my video. The outer hatch won't open, and the hook will not deploy until you've chosen your cargo. You may need to write, or download, a mission with ground cargo added to your AO
@@4RunAmok 👍 Thanks
Didn't even know you could open the trap door, thanks for the video
How do you get Bob to hover over load
You need to map the control for Bob Engage/Disengage, you will notice an immediate stability in flight, and now the joystick works like suggestions to Bob. Pushing left will cause Bob to rotate the aircraft, pushing right will rotate right, forward and aft on the stick will suggest forward or aft movements to Bob. The collective will suggest to Bob to lift or descend.
@@4RunAmokWhen I use Bob he will never come to a complete standstill in the hover, always a bit of drift to the left. Any idea what’s happening?
Yes, you're not being careful enough on the controls. Try using only two fingers on the controller until you have subtle control over Bob's movements.
I would just like a small window you could open while flying to see thru hole
@@toddw6716 This already exists. You need to map a binding. Search for "Trap Door" in the Adjust Controls. It's shown in the video
Your like Jack with the Magic Beans
Hey Buddy, can you Tell me how you get into the free movement in the Cargo bay?
Right Ctrl + ] a guy said after you hit 3 key
The default mapping to change the Flight Engineers station is RCtrl+[ and RCtrl+] which controls previous and next station. You will to map opening the trap door to a button, and it will need to be HELD until completely open, and held most of the way closed

Was this recent? Is the canyon open to the public?
This was in May 2019. The canyon/Father Crowley Vista is very much open to the public, but regular use of the canyon by jets for low level training is no longer as prominent due to the F/A-18 crash in August 2019. We have witnessed some planes go through the canyon after the crash, including one Nevada Air Guard C-130 while clean up crews were present on our last visit in January 2020, but I have heard it is not used nearly as much as it used to be. :(
@Bobby Brady Thanks for your service! I can assure you that I have indeed seen a Nevada Air Guard C-130 run through below the ridgeline AFTER the accident. I'll bet he's not the only one. We will be headed back eventually.
@@4RunAmok on my way back up from the canyon (june 2020) an f-35 flew through.
