Thank you! I've been fighting this switch in so many of my 1st Gen Durango's. I'm fixing my current 02 tonight and probably all my buddies rangos tomorrow. If I tell em mines fixed for free lol
Awesome video. Thank you for posting. It gave me a heads up on getting it apart. I suspected cold solder connection issues as well. The solder connections may not have been adequately heated during manufacturing.
You're the bomb dude. I’m a 70-year-old retired Seabee with 26 years of active duty. I was contemplating replacing the complete unit but your video was the answer. I knew it was out there somewhere even after 6 years. I have had my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 for 20 years. My problem was my driver's window was intermittently working on and off having to play with the toggle. So when I opened up the unit all the window switch contact areas were blackened with arcing residue, especially the driver window switch contacts. I used rubbing alcohol, a gun cleaning brush, and Q-tips. I clean the crap out of it. Put it all back together and it works like a champ. Thank you for your video. RUclips is the best
Well I just bought one brand new only the passenger side front an driver go up an down not the driver side back an front so am figuring maybe somewhere in the wiring or needs a motor
So easy to follow along and understand.Just here's how you get it fixed. I have had this problem since I purchased my 3 a couple months ago and I will give this a try today. Thank you.
Thanks man! Saved me some aggravation! Update: Reflow all pins on the 12 connector side as well. I noticed multiple cold solder joints so I just did them all to make sure they were are good! I also cleaned the 4 pins on each switch as they were cruddy as hell. I used some IPA and a q-tip and cleaned them thoroughly. Again thanks for the video!
Thanks Jimmy! It worked. I've waited for a couple years and decided its time to buy a new switch, until i seen your vidio. Glad you spent the time to help others out. much appreciated.
The contacts like to get dirty too causing it to not catch a contact..so I took the clear plastic switches and metal contacts off and clean them with rubbing alcohol and a qtip...all chryslers have them problems..had ever chrysler vehicle known to man kind
Having similar issues with my lock part on the master switch and window switch on passenger side. I'll probably just buy a passenger window switch it's cheap. I need new bezels too the clips are broken lol. 2002. The plastic in these dodges from 2002 + is complete crap. Dashes crack etc. Easy fixes but can get expensive if not mechanically inclined. I love the dang truck because it's just easy to work on and parts are all over the place. Thanks for the video and the detailed explanation! I'm going to try it out.
Nice video Jimmy, have something going on along the same lines on my 2003 Dodge Ram. Windows were all fogged up this morning, rolled all 4 of them down all the way using the driver side switches. But, none of them roll back up again... Tried all at once and individual from driver side switch and at individual doors. Any idea on what it might be? TIA.
I have the same problem.. 2004 Dodge Ram 2500...My plastic was too brittle and the driver side auto switch came completely out of the socket when trying to pry the switch cover off. (heavy sigh).. But great info!! Thanks for the great tutorial. Now waiting on a new DDM from Rock Auto.

Great job. Laughing at the guys that cut the wires and use a quick connect to "fix" it. By fixing they just bypass the switch. You fixed it.
lol Thanks!
Thanks man!! Was about to replace the whole switch on mine. Lil solder heating fixed it. 2001 Dakota Quad Cab

Great job!!! It also applied to my 2004 Dodge Dakota
Good work! It’s also good practice to brighten all the contact points of the switches.

I don’t think you had to take the switches off the front. The back will come off when the screws are out. Thank you
The switches will stop it from coming a part.
Jimmy Barnett you’re right just took it apart Thanks for the video appreciate it
@@jackc70 yes sir!
Found the two you mentioned and two at the back also cracked. After resoldering, it works perfectly. Thanks (You can get a new one for $15 on Ebay)
