Просмотров 215Месяц назад
The ATW is and earlier design 1.8T engine. Found on the 2000 vw passat and Audi A4. Looks to have been longitudinally mounted. The ATW cylinder head is interchangeable with my 1.8T BKF 06A block.
Vw/ Audi 1.8T Setting Timing marks
Просмотров 25Месяц назад
While installing a new cylinder head and timing belt on 1.8T. Timing was a pain and the notches from the manufacture only got me as close as 1 tooth off. Humble mechanic made a video on setting timing with a piece of cardboard to advance the timing by that tooth. Thank you

Nice rig brother ! I just bought an 04 with the 4.7, 178,000 as well ironically. Thanks for the tips 👍
Need any sealant on the threads? Thanks
I would recommend using sealant just in case
@@rkroadsiderepair ya according to the PCV replacement TSB, it looks like the threads sealer is part SOA635322 which is ThreeBond 1217H. So prolly Permatex ultra grey is fine.
Great video
Thanks!
Thank you ❤❤❤❤
What sort of symptoms did you notice change with the replacement? I have a 23 crosstrek 40k miles and it has been quite rough around the edges for the last 10k especiallyat low rpm. Thinking pcv might be a cheap place to start.
@@matthewweaver1123 rough idle and performance seemed low
I just did this. I admit it Gentlemen. This was a bit more than i planned on. Great video
After this is done what procedures need to be done? And what other parts/ and or kits you recommend replacing
Please watch the part 2 install video. And please replace head gasket with OEM and head bolts. Replace thermostat housing, thermostat, coolant outlet flange while you’re there
Thermostat water pump or you have a blown head gasket
And when have you done headgaskit work before?
This situation is happening after how many kilometers sir ?
160 kilometers
100k miles
Head gasket?
Yes head gasket blew again
Waterpump defect
Head gasket

Termostato, revisa las mangueras del sistema de enfiramiento
Nice job 👍
Thank you
@@rkroadsiderepair welcome my brother
Great job on the truck bro and an excellent tool set up too keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
I refilled my 05 yukon t-case after 52 ounces leaked out. It holds 64 ounces total. I ran out of auto trak fluid after 26 ounces and made a mix of 50/50 merc3 atf to 10w30 motor oil for the rest. So far so good. I understand any ATF is fine. I put a little oil to add to lubrication since it ran short for an unknown time period.
Why you using dexron 6? The manual says dexron 3 for that year.
It is compatible, can’t get dexron 3 anywhere where I live
She’s blessed to have a son like you. Keep it up man! 😇
Thank you, I will
Dont forget the transmission fluid as well.... it can be critical. Good vid
Yes! I will service the CVT next
yeah those brakes are toast lol
Would it also be the reason if I'm running the ac and the passenger side is only blowing heat?
I believe so it’s worth a try
I want to see you get that ratchet on and tighten it, I can't get a good angle on mine to get it out.
Need a deep socket and extension
What size socket is that?
19mm
Hose just pulls off? Any clamp or zip tie it back?
And did you replace the hose?
Yes no clamp or zip ties
For 2012 Impreza (source: Subaru shop manual) PCV valve 11810AA131 - tightening torque 17ft-lbs vacuum hose 99071AD690 thread lock: Three Bond 1324 (can't get, substitute Loctite 271 according to Toyota documentation)
How much did you get it for? I just got a 01 Dakota last year too, love it!
5000$
Thnx yo
What size engine is this
2.0 L
Do you know if this is the same for the 1.6L
2002 Dakota 4.7 v8 I’ve had it for under a year 7 months and I have put 12k miles on it. Love the truck. 4x4 doesn’t work so it’s RWD
mine 2011 ram dakota
Question what did you use to remove the top oil feed stud
A deep socket 15 mm
@@rkroadsiderepair I’m talking about the stud for the oil feed line I have a new turbo came with no studs not even the stud for the oil feed
Sorry, I used a stud removal kit and it came off fairly easy and use the same tool to install. Although your going to need a die kit to redo the threads
@@rkroadsiderepair oh ok I order a new one I’m going to use 2 nuts to put it on (pause)
P r o m o s m 🤗
What was your symptoms
Rough idle and performance seem low
@@rkroadsiderepair why didn't you simply spray clean it?
Where you located
Alaska
I replaced the power steering pump and immediately it blew out my rack and pinion so everything is new on my 2000 Dakota I have the 3.9 V6 so far it's a good little truck I had to also replace all the exhaust manifold bolts
Why does the exhaust rust out so bad on these trucks mine is very rusted
I’m DYING to go to Alaska one day, especially to also fly like you two did. I have 300 hrs in a 172, hope that’s sufficient to rent & fly, after a few instructional flights of course. Awesome video.
My baby has 193thou owned it for 3yr great great truck I’ve put 60,000 in the time an put some good love in her. No rust at all Fl
How did you crack the oil line bolt?
Slide 3/8th ratchet with shallow socket and braker bar
I think it’s a Dakota thing because every Dakota I see the battery is either 2012 to 2008 no idea how they still work. Mine is 2012
Only pays 7 hours....better get busy or hire a good Honda mechanic.......
I dropped off engine with transmission and all suspension. With a lift 1st time it took 5 hours. Later 1.5 hour. Good access to everything. All job can be done in 8-12 hours.
Just got an 04 quad cab 4.7 with 204k miles. Replaced water pump, everything else seem stock. Very happy with it. Good luck with your business bro 💪
Sup bro! We just picked one up 3 days ago on fb for 1200 . The next day don’t start and it’s not the battery or the fuel today we going to try the crank shaft sensor. You have any issue ?
No issues with no start, is it cranking is just clicking when you try to start it ?
How long did it take to get done?
2 days to remove and 2 days install. If you plan out your tooling and parts and all directions it will go smooth and you won’t waste your time like I did
Cheers dude Iam getting ready to do mine and going to try to get it done in 2 days
Dakotas are solid trucks I have a 2000 2wd 3.9 with 201.000 on the odometer it helps to be able to work on your own stuff good luck with the mobile mechanic business
I like it man!
Great video very helpful thanks
the v6 charger lol!
