You can make it even 9cm wide. Most important thing is the propeller and please make sure it gives enough power to pull the plane forward. Good luck

I'm using some thick wires (paper clip) to hang the rubber band at the back.

I'm not sure which part of rubber band attachment is difficult to you.

I used bamboo sticks mainly for the structure. Then a normal grocery bag for wings covering. A paper cup to make the propeller. A file clip to make the shaft of the propeller. Finally, you need a pebble as a bearing for the propeller.
