Please don’t fall for the Suzuki “method”. It’s a very bad method that was just marketed well. Just terrible. Of course every child can learn an instrument, but this doesn’t have anything to do with Suzuki. There were plenty of great players before Suzuki and plenty brilliant players now who were thankfully spared from this garbage. The fact that a few people have succeeded despite using the method is due purely to their talent.

Absolutely compelling viewing Sophie. I am not going into the argument about Time and Realism but it seems your views on history, of our desire for coherence and our making this as the principle guide to our evaluating historians work seems to me to be completely right. When for example people tell us that the debate in the House of Commons in 1940 after which many Conservative M.P.s rebelled against the government of Neville Chamberlain and which led to his downfall and the election of Winston Churchill as Prime Minister, can we say that this led directly to the Battle of Britain and the winning of the Second War War ? Well perhaps only if the historian making this claim can point to many more things and provide evidence for them. I heard a politician saying the other night that the Norway debate and the ensuing vote led to the freedoms and liberties that we enjoy in this country and I thought about the accuracy of that claim. I wonder what other people on here think about this in the light of Sophie's Botros's book ?

.... took my breath away, such creamy natural colours, so beautifully executed. Energized yet calming as well, very atmospheric, love the soft silvers, greys, muted sand colours with so many nuances.. it looks simply executed not overly worked. Very fresh. I love the entire exhibition here. Good luck and many best wishes for continued success and years of painting ahead of you Chris. Wonderful artistry strong and a sense of refined feelings throughout all of your work.
