A Shot In The Dark, Surf Rock Guitar Music
Playing a surf rock style on guitar to a song by Henry Mancini, A Shot In The Dark. Playing a 1961 Stratocaster through a Kendrick Reverb Unit into a 5-watt Supro Amp. The rhythm guitar is a 1964 Jazzmaster, the bass is a 1977 Fender Precision, and the drum samples are programed by me.

Great job on this... when I was real young I found a couple of Chet Atkins records in my parent's records, so I was into him... then one day I heard Lonnie Mack's version of Memphis on the radio and it totally blew me away, I'd never heard anything like it, never forgot it.
It affected me, too! I was 14 in 1964. I, too, had listened to Chet and also the Ventures. But I had also heard Steve Cropper on Stax records, and Freddie King's instrumental LP. When Lonnie's record came out, I tried to learn it, and I'm still trying!

I appreciate getting a request! I pretty much just keep these "surfy" adaptions to short tunes that are up beat and catchy, so I can make a go-go version for my surf band to play and get people to dance.

I create these backing tracks. Give me an email address, and I will send you an mp3. I wasn't planning on putting up the track on RUclips, but I don't mind giving it to you. By the way, if I had it to do again, I would slow it down a tad. It's fast! Kinda hard to play, for me at least.
