Tony Williams’ sticks… 🤩
Amazing footage! I was so obsessed with this period of Lenny’s music. Love that you could see the cymbals Cindy was playing and the actual kit size. If you have any more footage please post it
Badass drummer!! Her groove on rock n roll is dead is unmatched!
Who shot this video ? It could have been great but the director doesn't stop Cindy's body ! It's embarrassing ! We needed pictures !
Bonjour! Merci beaucoup Cindy et Lenny je vous remercie pour votre musique 🎶 gros bizzz amicalement Magali 🎶🐦😘🎸🎶🎼🐓⚘🕊💯pour 💯music 💕
Merci. ❤
Mrs Santana
The title of this video it should be "How cool is Cindy Blackman "
this is so cool
Awesome
A pretty typical case of LSD .. Lead Singers Disease .. 😳
I was there too. Will never forget how great it was to watch Page come out. Incredible.
Lenny bla bla bla?:)
Lenny is a perfectionist
Awesome! Thanks for sharing, Chris.
What a gem of a material, thanks!
sexy drummers 😍
"I Love Cindy Blackman"
what song is that in the very beginning first minute. It's a cool jazzy jam. I would have loved to see this concert. Cindy is a great drummer and a wonderful person, I've watched several interviews and drum sessions. She also has a great body, keeps fit. Rock on.
Some clear plexiglass barrier screens on stage would have probably helped solved this problem. Put the some small plexiglass screens in from the mic up amps, and a big one in front of the drums and that would stop the bleed through so that the vocal mics are not getting overloaded. That and get some in-ear monitors, and Lenny would have most likely been satisfied with his mix. For a lead singer Like LK to not hear his vocal for 2 weeks while touring; I can see why he is upset, it means he has to strain and over sing just to barely hear his vocals. That that certainly leads to challenging times having to sing like that night after night.
She is very talented and beautiful.
I Was there too. Have an audience recording that I don’t know how to transfer from cassette tape to digital. I was up in the rafters though and the sound was echoing around so not quite as good as this one. This was 10 days after live aid & the Led Zep reunion so we were expecting ‘Stairway’
I can help you transfer your tape, if you'd like
So Talented, so beautiful!!! Too bad she's married to that Carlos guy. Lol
This lady got some mean beats.....so talented!
Not sure who shooting the video but this should never have been allowed to be posted by Lenny and Cindy.....the person got a "thing" about Cindy's attire?
Do you mean George Santana, her then-future husband?
Lenny giving the soundman hell is sort of funny. I feel his pain and also the soundguys because every venue is different, so you need different settings each night. I'm sure it worked out in the end for them hahah. Cindy is awesome.
Right, in some venues your 15 000USD Gibson will sound like cheap Epi
I think this video should be titled 'Cindy Blackman Sound Check. Lenny Kravitz Whining.'
She is a great jazz drummer also...
Awesome interview 🌹
She hits hard. Holy cow. That’s gotta hurt after an hour of doing that. What a beast
You get used to hitting hard. What's more tiring is having to keep playing the same song to work out a monitor issue. Lol
@@fubar1217 Exactly. I don’t know where people get the idea that playing drums hurts? Did you know that she has a black belt in karate btw.?
@@TikuVsTaku I did not! I actually met her back in 2007 at a drum expo in New Hampshire. She was the last performer and stuck around to sign some cymbals that the Zildjian folks brought. She was really nice and chill.
...no Wonder Santana married her :)
and the snare is... ludwig supralite maybe
Muy bien..
I love how many men can't handle the fact Cindy is a better drummer than most.
Where? Who? I've never seen anyone give her criticism for being a woman.
Amazing director and camera angles. I got car sickness..but so awesome to be at sound check w Lenny, Cindy and the band!
I LOVE CINDY BLACKMAN SHE IS ONE FINE WOMAN
How not to make a video
Cool.
great stuff
Cindy Blackman has to be one of the fiercest drummers ever! She paved the way for women drummers in the 90s
Shelia E?
@@merrymonarch I feel like Sheila E was known more for singing and percussion work and not so much drumset playing. I know she can play....it's just not what made her famous.

Here 15 years later and this was peak NFC east football. The best rivalry in football and I was at this game in Philly supporting my cowboys. Man was I bashed by eagles fans XDD
I was there :) I still have the ticket stub that looks exactly like this one!
Robert is such a flirt ~!! I can never get enough of him listening to the interviews as enjoyable as the music !
This was a great time in his solo career, those first 12 years (81-93) he put out some great music (sans the majority of Shaken & Stirred : 'Little By Little' was one of his best tunes, not sure why the rest of the album was very weak!). His 1993 album was pretty disappointing, as was his band for the tour. I can't understand why he changed up his band personnel so much, the first 2 bands backing him were absolutely great. His solo work from 1993 to now is pretty .."meh".... I think it shows the midsets of the "fan" who will like anything an artist puts out, seeing as so many people are happy with it.
I loved this interview all the way around. I especially loved, and was so surprised, to hear the things he said about Phil Collins. Robert can be very "sparing" with compliments on other artists, and he can be quick to MOCK artists....but he was so generous with his props to Phil. And he is so generous in his description of Jimmy.........
Really interesting interview.
1:10 "That must be a Jimmy Page video" LOL
Thanks for sharing!! great interview from a great period of Plant' solo career
intresting ....Clapton asked to play with robert on the next Honey Drippers ! & fantastic that he mentions "Boney M" !
thats not to say he cant rock anymore! he did so in 2007, checkout his voice during KASHMIR ! U WONT BELIEVE WHAT u hear! & I suspect somthing that just may reflect ALL sides of his personality & it ALL come together in 2014! !
i remember this era ! we were barely in highschool & herdrock metal heads ! & NO1 COULD CHANGE US! but Robert Plant did ! he reached our ears & reminded us what "else" music is ! kinfa like the wayZEP showed us hard rockers to appreciate "the ocean" AND "all of my love" ! he was like the big brother that you cant help but watch & see & admire how he walked his own path ! & in a way he raised us to be sO much more than what we could have become !
