Just a bit of advice, there needs to be emotion in the reading. For example, no sense of fear or urgency or distress etc. Just my humble 2 cents worth of thought.

It's hard to feel any sympathy for either of the protagonists. John is obviously a sociopath, and Amy is not much better, since she stood and did nothing while watching John torturing a man. Frankly, Amy faces a real problem: alone, she has little chance. But it is also unsafe to stay with John, who is mentally twisted, to the point that he has told her frankly that he will kill her too if she stops being useful to him. Not a lot to choose between a murdering crazy man and the people who facilitate him.

The narration isn't even the original text, rather a kind of rewrite intended for maybe middle school students. Incredible.

ALMOST sounds like a real person....can tell it's an AI voice though. All the pauses in the wrong places and other little things give it away and ruin it for some of us...bye
