Ambient Drone VCO Lab
Decided to enjoy building some ambient texture with the VCO Lab module. Love using Claudal and Rampage as a nice slow sources of random modulation.

Revisiting an earlier patch using Glass Pane from Path Set during one of Omri Cohen's fortnight module challenges. I like the movement using Surge XT's Quad LFOs.

Final experiment for the Vult Fixed Rack fortnight challenge with Omri Cohen. Happy with the use of Flux and Fuser on this one. Sound very distinct from the first three I made.

Part of Omni Cohen's fortnight module challenges. This is the first fixed rack I use and it was a really great way to learn a manageable number of modules in one shot. I'm including three of my explorations. 00:00 Patch 01 01:25 Patch 02 02:28 Patch 03

Trying to move away from the low frequency droning sound. Decided to play around in the higher ranges to see if I could come up with some interesting voices and effect.

First experiment with using poetry and simpliciter slices to create an auditory experience. Using Samuel Butler's I Fall Asleep In the Full And Certain Hope poem as read by Ruth Golding for Librivox. librivox.org/poems-and-prose-for-the-departed-vol-01/

Playing around with sequencer with a few switches with a string and two percussion voices. Nice surprise was the effect of sending 10v to the Oct CV input that squashed the beats.

Nice! 👏 Just a little detune...
This is like trying to make a synthesizer in Patcher off Fruity Loops Lmao, How long does something like this usually take? and do you use sample it?
This one was a couple of hours but sometimes I just make a few patches in an hour and none of them really work. I save everything because sometimes I go back to listen to it and I hear it differently. I don't really use samples at all. I have a video in my playlist titled "I fall asleep" and that had some voice samples in it.
I love it! What's the name of this software?

Beautiful! Thank you!
Glad you like it!

I love the ambience but why such a long video :(
Very interesting... Cool!
Very good! I hope you make other videos with this fixed patch!
Thank you! Yes, I plan to play around with this one for a bit. I find the constraint of a fixed patch can help explore possibilities I wouldn't otherwise do.
It's true!@@PaulFournier
I think there is an extension for this, is there none?
Cheers, just what I needed to help me doing exactly this .
SketchUp. No extensions needed. And a little patience.
Hey bro give me the App link
Hey paul, Do you provide domes industrial design ?
Amazing! Would love you to go slower and talk us through your process!
great
This is too fast. Nobody can really learn anything from it. Please record the screen on a lower speed.

Thank you Paul, but could you to go little slowly? Greetings of Ibarra - Ecuador.

What is your thoughts about having to bevel both sides of each strut? You can also design the frame with a bevel cut on only one side of each strut and it turns out the same in the end, struts end up being 90 degrees to the panel like you designed here, and same overall dimension thickness once assembled, just less cutting. Use the push pull tool and pull the flat face down perpendicular to the panel, then only trim off the outsides of the triangles to the guide lines you use that come from the center of the dome. But don't trim inside to any center guidelines, the push pull tool already did what you needed for the inside, perpendicular to the panels on both sides. This leaves only one bevel cut per strut. Your way is really elegant, i considered it, but i will be in actuality beveling only one side on mine i think. Mine will look mostly identical to yours except you will be able to see the inside sides of my struts will be in a perpendicular arrangement to the panels, on yours you will be able to notice it is not perpendicular, but aligned to the very center to the dome. Both look professional, but yours will show off a little more of the geometry of the dome. But for now i need to get it built and later if i build more i might consider it, but for now it is less complicated when it comes time to make forms to make the frames and panels.
very nice. You can make your life alot easier if you define a custom axis an rotate around the center point: ruclips.net/video/nWWlegbU-uU/видео.html
Hello Paul. Cool videos indeed! Can the structure be an H-BEAM that acts as TWO struts? Are you willing to WORK with me to design something? Your reply is much appreciated. Thanks Paul (m.alghadeeri@gmail.com)
Beautiful. Can you contact me? I want to buy some plans for this. actioncoolers@gmail.com Thanks!
