The Z33 mystery 427. And the Z11 427 were two different engines.. not the same engines..
The Z33 mystery motor 427.and the Z11 427 were of the same bore and stroke.the stroke is 3.65.and they had the same bore as the 4.09

I love how Howell EFI is centered around TBI systems. One of the best engineered EFI systems out there. I cringe at people who yank them out for a carb. Long lasting
Appreciate the mystery motor. Without it we wouldn't had the mk 4. My favorite engine of ALL time. Love that pin ya in your seat torque. Just nothing else like it!
There is another.
Bill Howell, Zora Arkus Duntov and Smokey Yunik were the best engineers Chevy ever had.
Thank You.. 👍
Awesome, can't wait to get my harness and computer reprogrammed for my LT1 67 Camaro Swap.
I've had a 50 state kit installed since 2007ish, purchased from Quadratec. I was wondering what the differences are between the on road and off road kits? is it just the PROM?
What about 68 chevy truck camper sportsman
Yes it can go into.
Old Junior sure put them motors to the test. He said they were very powerful but had a weak valve train setup.
I have a 90 YJ . I just had your EFI installed along with a 4.7 stroker build and CRT HEI. Hoping to pick her up soon. Can't wait to drive it. Thank you Howell family for creating this system to make our oldies but goodies dependable.

I'm considering your kit for my previous fuel injection Ford 300 inline, that I will also add a HEI distributor, SUGGESTION: If you don't answer questions sent into your shop via the web page & email, PLEASE remove those options
Definitely not a problem setting up a kit for your application. Call us at 810-765-5100 and we can help you with any questions.
GM did not get out of NASCAR racing because they could not afford it.. They got out for Two Reasons #1 JFK was looking into breaking up GM because they had over 60% of the USA car and light truck market at the time.. Win on Sunday sell on Monday. #2 There had been some huge wrecks that even killed spectaturs and GM didn't want to be assocated with racing..
I read there was a young guy who worked at GM on the Mark IV Porqui pine Head motor then he went to Ford and Develope the Heads for Ford Clevland engines.

How much does a harness cost ?
I'll be calling you with my wiring request. 1995 LT1 engine going into 1983 Camaro. Now I know what info you need for me to have before I call.
Tom, couple questions we'll ask you is length of trunk, distance from ECM placement to the back of the engine. Gear ratio/tire size/transmission /etc.
@@howellenginedevelopment903 Great I'll have all that info for you within the month. We're still building. Thanks for the reply. Do you need what is in the engine like compression ratio, cam, rockers, cu.in and the optic-spark distributor? I can send pictures of the engine compartment. One question, where do you plan to have the wiring go through the firewall?
@@tomstrickland6002 Tom, we'll need cam specs, displacement, gear ratio, rear tire size, wiring can go through firewall anywhere you want. We just need trunk length from center back of engine to ECM (computer).
Love humble human beings
bill was my "go to guy"at chevy when i was building BBC race engines
Can you repair stock lt1 harnesses?
How about a slant six?
Same question? 🤔
I've got your kit for the Jeep 258 in a CJ. Don't know why this video doesn't have more views. I am getting your videos now because I recently subscribed. Thanks for the information because I wasn't aware that you also did Jeep Wagoneers. I have a Jeep J10 with the 258 that I want to convert to fuel injection so I will check out your K247J kit to see if it will work for my application.
Thanks. I have one of your systems for converting a CJ to fuel injection. Hope to get it installed in my CJ8 next year. Purchased it quite a few years ago so I will check out your web site to see what is new that might help the install. I also have A J10 pu with the 258 c.i. engine that I will need to convert to fuel injection too. Both are nearly rust free and have been stored for a long time.
So who was the engineer that dreamt up them terrible cylinder heads????
Definitely had durability issues with the valve train for 500 mile races, but while they were still running, Junior Johnson at least led in EVERY race it ran in 1963 NASCAR, and every race that the engine held together, they WON, as it just spanked the piss out of everything else on the track. There's a video here on youtube where Junior Johnson quoted and backed the claim made by Ray Fox, that if these engines would've held together, they would've won every race during the 1963 season. Yeah, it's a shame the heads were plagued with problems. But when it ran, nothing could touch it that year in NASCAR.
@@howabouthetruth2157 the problem wasn't with the heads or the valvetrain as the oiling system from the lifters up thru to the racker arms mimicked the small blocks . The problem lies with the rear cam journal and cam bearing were grooved which caused oil starvation to everything beyond that point in the valvetrain. They finally solved the problem in either '67 or '68 .
Not sure if you or RUclips decided to make this an add... but let me just say that I hope for the best during your Sundance Film Festival nomination with your 5 minute commercial.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing history! You did a great job with the GM company, Bill. I was just shown this video, out of my great love for Corvette, by your nephew Tommy Bayne. I currently work with him at Autocar Trucks. Heartbeat of America!
How small can you make it, like for a type 1 air cooled vw?
