I had and still have only the vintage Kenner Darth Vader's Tie Fighter. I also have the vintage Tie Interceptor from 1983 which came in a slightly brider color and diferent wings. But the POTF 2 Tie Fighter looks also nice.

I was one of those spoiled brats that had two Millennium Falcons as a kid. I had a big family and a doting grandmother. I was easy to shop for at Christmas. I ran through a Millennium Falcon, Xwing figter,Tie fighter and Death Star playset before I got vigilant about preserving my collection. I went to see Star Wars for my 5th birthday. So I played hard with those first sets. The Millennium Falcon is the only toy my family replaced. It was reissued for ESB. I still have that second Millennium Falcon, with a functional ramp hinge, today. I just cleaned it all up and restickered it. A few had been lost over the years. Absolutely one of the all time best toys.

Never had the Millennium Falcon as a kid in the 70's and 80's. But later in around 2000 or so, I had the POTF 2 Falcon with lights and sounds. Five years ago I started collecting Vintage (1977-85) Star Wars figures and toys again. Now I also have the original Falcon with ROTJ box (Cloud City scene on box). It's complete and in great condition with working sound. It's an awesome toy and collectors piece and I'm very proud to own this great toy. It is also a great toy for making nice action scene fotos like the training ball scene with Luke and Ben or the chess (Dejarik) scene with Chewie, R2 and C-3PO. There are a lot of possibilies.

I did own the original one and enjoyed the look and playability of it. But I sold that one, unfortunately. I bought two electronic ones a couple of years ago, old stock from a toy store, but haven't open them. I think by the look of it the 90's version is a good one. The engines match the ones from the movie (blue instead of red) and the interior has some upgrades. The only annoying thing is the cockpit colour. It should have been the same colour as the rest of the ship. But it's electronics makes this one a very interesting vehicle.

I'm 54 and had an original one of these as a kid. The ramp hinge was the first thing to break. I think I ended up giving it and most of my other star wars stuff to a nephew.

It's interesting how the Falcon is a "freighter" yet has no room for freight. If you go by X-wing Alliance lore - it hauls containers, but they've never really explained it.

Great idea! If it’s not for some specific memory, then go for the potf edition. I think price/ value relation is great. If not, I think the grey USA Kenner version for empire strikes back is best old school version!

I think you easily can say that the potf2 vehicles are all better than the OG ones. The concept literally was to UPGRADE them

The Kenner Diecast TIE bomber is a fantastic piece and goes for a lot of money 💰 I got one in 2011.

I understand your point, but as I vividly recall from my childhood, we didn’t need much to to start our play. Here in Europe we inhaled anything that star wars and there was not as many things available as in the US…at least in my hometown here. So honestly, I didn’t need more than a background to imagine I was in Mos Eisley. The backdrop of the creature canteen bar show the band and for me that was the Kenner Star Wars cantina band and not just cardboard! Anyway I like this background nowadays because it’s from that era, and yes, I agree it’s overrated because it’s rare. Thanks for watching!

That's probably the worst Star Wars playset of the canteen I have ever seen. Colored cardboard and a bunch of plastic stands. Its value is in its rarity I guess, like a stamp.
