Marillion - Garden Party Market Square Heroes - Real to Reel (Live)
i was there
Seen them as oppening for Rush. at the old Montreal forum. Man Amazing Professionals Performance.
The best band with fish EVER
Bought this CD in a market for 99p..Best investment of my life.. :)
Wonderful such a happy perfect combo of 2 songs. ❤
6:38 one of the best of mine history of the rock music.
positively
Olé!!! Olé!!! Que artista!
The best band in the world at that time
Love Roy,a one man rock and roll band.
Superb musicianship. Masters of their craft.
What the hell do Fish say between "See you" and "Leicester De Montford, thank you , good bye" ??
Brilliant
I was a little obsessed at the time. I think it was the special delivery Fish gave to the songs that everyone tried to mimic when singing along with him
I bought the CD when it came out here in California, and I am trying to immitate how He plays this classic Flamenco piece, so many RUclips guitarists post their style of playing this but none is virtuosic as this - my favorite.... someday i can play as this... OLE!!!!!...
Yep, I love this.
Excelente 👏
Loved this album! xmas present about 1985?
". .. .. On vocals and percussion ~ FISH! "
I don't know why, but I always loved Mark Kelly's keyboard solo at 10:42
I love Ian’s China cymbals starting at 9:05
Are you following me? 🙏
Fantastic.
Fucking ads
Dude, there are tools...
What are the crowd singing in back ground at 4.56
I'm punting, I'm beagling, I'm whining, Reclining, I'm rocking, I'm F***ING!!!!
The lyrics go... I'm rucking, I'm fucking. Rucking is part of playing rugby, a popular sport for the upper classes, and Fish played too.
Fear 😨😱
This version is amazing, so much power,it makes the album version sound weak. The perfect example of the difference Ian Moseley made to the band. ( and the Minimoog sounds bloody amazing )

Must be a live take - guitar and voice together. When though?
He’s on one here. It’s the best version I’ve heard.
those years..😇
Fish in Garden party: "Leicester De Montofort, what a crowd" I was there, mine was one of the voices singing out! Best versions of these songs
This where the days 🥰
on the guitar.....Mr Steven Rubbery
shrubbery, you mean...
All times favorite! awesome memories......
Market Square heroes is so inspirational they should sing it at the last night of the proms.
The thatcher years
Spot on. It makes me feel with the passion of youth
The whole ambience ruined by an advert between the two tracks destroying the atmosphere and what is important ENJOYMENT, Thank you for your greedy bastards at Google. You have ruined You Tube. Money before integrity. Rot you
Ever heard of ABP??
Marillion without Fish. Fish without Marillion. The end of a great band and the end of something special in music. Never to be repeated
Marillion is my favorite progressive rock band (in fish time). Real to Real is one of the best live albun.
Beautiful, pure and simple, 💕🎸🎼
I was at this concert with my brother Leicester de montfort what a crowd (Fish)
I was 15 at the time I got this album and its still as relevant to me today at 50 yrs old ... quality ... wish I'd been there
I could not agree more, my happy place..
Were you there after?
What are the crowd singing at 4.56 plus....love it
Me too ...and Grendel...wow
@@paulcritchley6238 They’re simply taking the lead vocal at that point in ‘Garden Party’, at Fish’s direction - and singing the lyric themselves, instead of him. It’s effectively the ‘middle-eight’ of the song, as it is termed in music - the eight bars of time, in the middle, which mark the point where a song turns and heads for home. The lyric runs: “I’m punting, I’m beagling, I’m wining, reclining, I’m rucking, I’m fucking…”The song is a biting satire on the upper classes, especially as seen by Fish, when he was living in Cambridge and involved with a girl there. The upper-class activities name-checked are punting (boating past the colleges on the river Cam), beagling (fox-hunting with hounds - the beagles), reclining on the lawns of the Cambridge colleges and getting drunk, and rucking (contesting possession of the ball during a rugby match).
My favorito album of progressive rock
Oleee mi tio Rodrígo. Dios te tenga en su Santa Gloria !!!
Marillion para bien o para mal marcó mi juventud. 👏👏👏
No Marillion without fish x
Totally agree and history has proven the fact
This Live album was the moment i realised how bloody good this band is, remember listening to this for the first time in the 80's and just admiring how brilliant these musicians were. Still the best version of these 2 tracks IMO
And at six minutes and forty seconds the crowd really start to bounce .....
A powerful voice ,for powerful lyrics ..what a tour this was....and to think this album was only threw out to try and make some cash to pay back some of the debt they were in to EMI. From the studio time and tour ...so we may never of got our hands on this classic live album......
Can U tell me what exactly Fish says at the end of Market at 13:08" before Thank You, Goodbye"?
@@dinhobr9950 I have to go have a listen to be 99%sure..but off top of my head. If memory serves me right.. I think its "Tonight it's took you out there.. And us up here.. Bless everyone's World ( or work) T.Y.G.night.. ..but hey even I get it wrong sometimes. Are u following me.. .. I will give a listen in morning when I get a chance and reply again
listened to this over and over with mybest friend Dave.happy memories
One of the best live albums ever
I was in the crowd that night what a gig oh and it's de montfort

Well, What he says at the end of Market Square Heroes?
