    Why didn't you demonstrate by sticking a fly into it? At that time you could remind the customer that by inserting the fly , hook bend first, into the upper part of the teardrop holder recess, the hook point will not contact the foam and the foam won't be torn up, allowing the box to last a lot longer. A lot of people don't know this, and, from the $ 30 price tag, will be glad to hear that. Nice video, informative, like those mountingsheets for boards. I think these are the best I've seen yet.

    I use all of them, prefer the pescador though for the fact they are waterproof. All the tacky boxes are great with the silicone slots . I have 2 of the x large boxes with the page inserts, go everywhere with me. Use them to refill my boxes I carry on the water.

    I own the 904-2 Lamson Purist, so I'm always interested in casting videos with the Radius. Lamson has carved out an interesting price point, just below the higher-end mid-priced rods like Hardy and Scott, but just above the lower-end rods. If you have access to a spool of SA Smooth Creek you might want to cast it. On the Purist, I fish a size 10 Umpqua wooly as the water levels come down. Great fun. BTW, the audio seemed fine. :-)

      I have a Purist as-well and the radius has a slightly different feel. The two piece rod Cast a little smoother (less Ferrels) but a bigger package. I like your ideal with the SA Creek, Its a full size heavy so it should throw wooly's better with that compact head. Thanks for the Comment. Tight Lines.

    The "BEST" 9 foot 5 weight fly rod is the one you can afford, along with the understanding of the fish you plan to catch, the flies that represent their food, and being able to cast with that rod effectively to present the appropriate fly! The "elitism" that infests fly-fishing is monetarily driven and egocentric! You DO NOT need to appear as though you stepped out of a fly-fishing catalogue, unless you care deeply about what others will say of your gear! Go for it and have fun!

    • @blackdogoutdoorsports9776

      Yes the best is what you make of it. this review is solely built on the fact that for your money you are getting a fly rod that is UNDER PRICED in value as compaired to the competition. IE it Light, fairly fast, and for trout fishing excells at swinging flies and throwing dries.Thanks for the comment @zubenelgenubi , TIGHT LINES and get out and enjoy your time outside!

    Kindly advise should I go esn shadow x or diamond back 10 ft 2 wt or this cortland rod 3 wt 1p ft 6 inches after you have fished it . thanks. I would appreciate if you could kindly advise of rod sensitivity with mono rig. Tganks

    • @blackdogoutdoorsports9776
      @blackdogoutdoorsports9776 Месяц назад

      The cortland for the $$ is a nice sensitive rod it comes in $150-200 less then the echo and diamondback. Add 20' of indicator mono in the 9-10lb range and it will drasticly improve the castability of light nymphs. the extra 6" will give you some more reach and beter reach when fishing 20-40ft away. The two rods you mentioned will be lighter because they are both 10 ft and 2wt's. the Douglas dxf 10' 2wt is a comperable and sesitive rod that is in the same level as the others you mentioned. shop.blackdogoutdoorsports.com/douglas-dxf-rod.html?id=102225574&quantity=1 It really comes down to the size of the rivers your fishing. Give us a call if you want some more info! Thanks,

    I have one of those that’s about 8 years old. Mine is better because I have a hook keeper. If I am walking between sites and want to hang my fly up to keep it from becoming tangled, I can put fly on hook keeper, and tighten the line by turning the reel until the line is snug. I also have a roof top rod carrier, just open the end and slide the entire rod and reel into the tube, without unstringing the line or removing the fly from my tippet. Same thing with being in a boat with two rods, I can hook fly on hook keeper and pick up the other rod to fish. Hook keepers provide lots of utility and convenience, Orvis eliminated all of them from every rod they make. I will never purchase a rod from Orvis again, either for my own use or client rods in my boat, until they bring them back.

      I am late to the conversation but I have the 126 and weigh 220lbs as well. I mainly use the canoe in the BWCA with a full 60l pack, a small/medium yeti cooler, and small tackle kit with rod. My guess my total weight is 300-320lbs and the boat does great. Without all the gear, the boat feels like an extension of my body because it is so lightweight and maneuverable. Other than my friend’s Swift canoe, this has been the best solo canoe I have ever used. There is an outfitter in Hayward Wisconsin that sells Wenonah’s blemished models. I got a graphite 126, new with a slight scratch near the seat for $1400. Considering the boat is $2650, I couldn’t care less about the blemish. If you care, you still get Wenonah’s lifetime warranty minus the spot with the blemish.

      @@jo_nathan_nation6544Hello! Found your comment while researching pack canoes. I am 6'3" 230lbs...do you feel the Lassie would still be large enough and have enough capacity with gear for me? I'm impressed it performed well in the BWCA. Most of my paddling would be smaller lakes and ponds, but I do one or two week long+ BWCA/Algonquin/Adirondacks trips a year. I looked up that outfitter you mentioned they still have Lassie's at that incredible price! I would love to drop the money on a Swift or Placid, but can't justify it right now. If the Lassie will work well for me, she may be the ticket. Any additional info you can share about your canoe would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick

I think that is the pack I need It is huge and seems to handle all I have and then some. Just an FYI for you If I was closer to you [Albany area?], I would have done business with you.
