Looks like the animatsiya website is down?

I made improved subtitles over at Animatsiya (and the other site). I've wanted to improve the translation for a few years now, ever since I noticed that the wrong verses were translated in many of the songs, but you found fault with my first attempt that I showed you a while back - and justifiably, too. It was indeed too clunky. But I've now worked for almost a month on this new attempt and I really do think that it's in most respects better. Although of course many of the artistic choices (such as using Elizabethan-era English) will be a matter of taste. By the way, there are no "original" scenes in this film - everything that wasn't in the opera libretto comes from the original 1873 play, which has never yet been translated to English. Aside from a few very small and minor textual changes.

It should be dubbed in English for theatre screens in the USA, and it would be nice to see, especially if the theatre in question is in a rural area like, for example, Flemingsburg, Kentucky, with its Rebel Theatre, presently still undergoing restoration?!

Thanks for the subs. I think I improved them over at Animatsiya. I chose to consistently translate "pan" as "lord" as I did for "Ivas (1940)", and "zlydni" as "baddies".

Haunting and beautiful. An outstanding interpretation of Silverstein's story. The innocent young boy grew up thinking that life revolved around him, thinking only about his needs and caprices. Lacking wisdom, he went on destroying one of the most valuable and beautiful thing that he ever knew in his childhood.

This has an aire of Carlson to it. Maybe it’s the character? I wanted to ask if you have access or otherwise know the name to a specific animation. If I recall correctly, it covers Pugachev’s rebellion, the animation itself having been produced in 1993 or thereabouts. Its colour theme is pretty consistently red, and covers the aftermath of a battle, with a barren landscape. The protagonist being a mother or a boy whose home has been destroyed. Beyond that, I believe Pugachev was accompanied by a uniformed soldier

This has to be another one of the most strangest and obscure Soviet cartoons but at the same time it's a pretty good PSA about personal hygiene and keeping yourself clean.👍

I watched this in Hungarian when I was very little and I never thought about this show being anything but Hungarian lol, I never even realized that it's about different cultures around the world Only now that I have recalled the episode set in Australia in a drout with the water beads, I looked for it to get a bit of nostalgia and realized that it was in fact not a Hungarian show 😅
